Question Plasma vs LED LCD upgrade

I'm wanting to upgrade my bedroom set to a bigger TV. My room has a good set of curtains which keeps my room dark so thats why i'm leaning towards Plasma but I wasn't sure about the burn in issue with plasma. Is that always going to be a problem with plasma? I'll most likely just watch TV, blu, and play PS3/360. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Burn-in isn't an issue. Unless of course you're a complete numbskull and abuse your television with a static image set on Vivid for three days. I'm guessing you're not one of those people though.

Yes, go with plasma. You'll get a better image - color accuracy, black levels, motion, etc. You'll get IR, but it's not big deal and goes away after a few minutes most of the time. As long as you use common sense, reasonable settings, and use the pixel orbiter, you'll enjoy a natural cinematic image from plasma. Enjoy.

Until viewing angles are no longer an issue with LED sets, I'll continue to recommend Plasma.

Ah! I forgot to mention viewing angles. Doh!

Yes, LCD's suck too if you're not sitting in pretty much the dead center of the viewing area. Some of the more expensive sets have compensated in different ways, but again, they cost a lot more. Plasma is the best way to go. You can get a plasma set that blows any LCD away for a fraction of the price of an LCD.

What size are you looking for and what is your budget?

I agree with the others, if you just want the absolute best with no budget restrictions, the Pioneer Kuro's are the absolute best. However, if you have a more realistic budget, look at Panasonic's. They are the best for the price.

Thumbs up Plasma

Well, I would stick with the Panny plasmas. You can find a great deal for $1500 and under over the next couple of weeks. You'll not regret your decision.

I concur. There is absolutely no better deal than this set right now. I got mine from THIS Ebay seller. For $1600 shipped with the stand included its an excellent deal. Sign up with Bing.com and buy it using paypal and get 8% cash back. You will get the best TV money can buy for less than $1500 brand new.
