I drive a Ford Ranger 4X4. I'd really like an F-150 or a Toyota Tundra, but I've only got 22k miles. We bought two at one time, and price was a consideration then. Four wheel drive and high clearance are a must up here.

I am fortunate to drive whatever I want, being a sales manager at an import dealership.

I personally own a 1999 Toyota Camry XLE.

American assembled '04 loaded Dodge Durango SLT, 5.7 litre Hemi V-8, 3.92 rear gears, with a trick or two putting out about 370 HP, while laying down over 400 in torque. It only has something like 30K on it (just broken in if you ask me). She also pulls our '05 28' RV like a dream.

I bought it new for safety reasons (5 star crash ratings) for my wife and new child. Less than 3 years later, she rarely drives it as she enjoys the mild ride of our American assembled '07 Ford Focus ZX4 commuter car (5 star rating and less emissions than some hybrids). She said doesn't like the SUV because its too fast and sucks down the gas.

I built it, I know.

Line up that A4 next to me in So Cal and you'll think I'm a nut job when I look over to get you to run it. Straight line, 1/4 to 1/4, almost no one beats me. Even when they do (and i'll admit they do sometimes), usually its a high end sports car and I take that close race as a wash because IF I was in the sports car racing me, I wouldn't lose.

My commuter car is an American assembled 1996 Ford Contour GL with only 112K on it and well maintained. Not having a car payment on this car for so long is nice. Just change the fluids regularly and go.

Notice a theme with our autos?

Us early adopters are so competitive. I'm waiting for my old buddy to show up with his Corvettes and put us all to shame.

2007 VW Fahrenheit with no options (didn't offer any)

2008 BMW 535i Sedan - Graphite Gray with gray leather and poplar wood trim, sport package and 6 speed manual. Had it about 9 weeks and is at the dealer now. Seems mice from the field behind my house decided to invade under the hood and eat a shitload of plastic wiring and harnesses. Ouch. Insurance company is not very happy. I'm not either but that's what I pay them for. The BMW is nice, but the VW if a blast to drive (although sort of ugly in that orange color they offer it in).
