Slick, I know you were jesting about getting less money for each time you try a race but I think there is some logic to that. Not that I would do well at it. I know that the majority does not know how to set up a car but it is a Driving/Racing Simulator.

Yes, the game was made for everyone to be able to play. With driving aids, assists and overpowered vehicles for races, just about anyone who picks up this game will be able to get bronzes(save the X1 challenges) in almost every race, event, license test, etc...

The difficulty exists for those who want to feel like they accomplished something that not everyone is able to do. Considering the relatively enormous payoff for these bonus events, I would expect/hope them to be more difficult than the A-spec stuff.

For competitive sake, it's a greater feeling of getting gold on an event that is generally considered to be "impossible". Hell, I've even said a few events were impossible, till I spent a lot of time on them and eventually got gold.

Not everyone should be able to gold everything in this game. If everyone does, then "gold" really has no meaning...

Just my $.02

A lot of the regular events in GT-GT4 were very similar to the GT5 Seasonals because of the heavy restrictions. Did it fail because of the difficulty? NO. In fact, the series has sold over 60 million copies, so it's a very healthy franchise.

I guess PD felt pressure to conform to the "win anything you want in the game easily" crappy arcade-style racing, in order to attract more casual racers and increase sales. I just wish they would have kept it like the old GT style. The series has always had a great cult-like following, but it's slowly losing its luster IMO. And you're right, it's definitely becoming more and more like Madden nowadays... I just liked it more when it was like Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Maybe after the next update you'll get a level increase just by popping the game in. Bonus experience and money for ramming other cars off the track? Nitrous? Missiles?

I played GT3. You act like there are national rankings on the Seasonal Races. There isn't. So if you want the extra challenge, GO FOR IT and don't tune your car. Or go and do the nationally ranked trials with all the other "hardcore" true fans of the game. And GT5 in the first month shipped 1/10 of all the other versions combined. Crying and whining about PD giving greater access to more casual gamers or its losing its appeal because its easier makes you sound pretty snobbish. There are still events even mighty players like you will still have difficulty winning gold. If you and the others feel the need for challenge, why don't you go and win the nationally ranked time trials or don't tune your cars? Again I am this is an issue since you are not forced to tune your cars. You could have just as easily came on here and instead of insulting us of lower abilites and PD for considering that, and said you beat the unrestricted events without tuning your car. Are you jealous someone else tuned their cars and got gold? What is the deal? Do you have Tuner Envy? LOL?

Wow what a difference on those seasonal events.

I didn't even really try them before, but since I saw there was a new event I decided to try the Citreon C4 event. That was such an easy race with mods, and the rewards are insane.

I'm definitely not complaining though.

Congrats on golding nurburg!! I've been putting it off but you have given me hope again. Is that your daily driver? I'd love just to go through the gears in that thing. Never ridden in a Ferrari but I've only seen one on I-10 in Houston.

Nice!!!! I have a '67 fastback, white with blue stripes. It's not a show car but it's still all mine. I've kinda put it on the backburner for a while. Need to put some new tires on it and get better brakes. It was a project that got started in high school and eventually became my daily driver after new upholstery and paint. Needless to say I decided to stop driving it daily and then it kinda sat and now it needs to come out of the garage again.

Pitted 2 laps later and pressed the OK button too fast and it put raintires on. My average lap is now 15s longer in the same conditions.

The 20million credit version is what I am using on the 24hr race. Felt my Vettel version has taken enough abuse for now.

Haha my Vettel is getting sooo abused. I have put about 6,000 miles on it in the past week. Well, actually, Bob has. But I figure I'll get another free one at B-spec 35 so whatever. I have a Carbon that is my baby that Bob isn't allowed to touch

Question, to you and others that have these beasts, is there any differences between the 3, other than paint or lack there of?

The Carbon has an adjustable transmission, but that's the only difference.

Yep, so I believe you can have even faster acceleration. Great for a track like Monaco (Cote de'Azure or whatever they call it in GT5). I haven't ran it on a track with no long straight yet though. I'd be curious to see someone tune the Carbon and put it on a 0-100 race on Special Stage 7 against the Vettel/color so we can see how much of a difference there is.
