Thanks a lot for the review, I will buy this. I have only seen the Non-US version and hearing how awful the US Blu Ray was I definitely wanted a version like this.

Thanks for the review, but you did not mention if the sound was "enhanced" with added sound fx, which totally spoils a film for anyone who has seen the original version with original mono sound.
I dont mind 7.1, 6.1 whatever as long as they use the original sound elements and not add phoney sounding new ones over the top which is what they tend to do with older HK films on Blu ray, i.e. The Bruce Lee Classics...

Its insane! lol

That's cause they're actually a bunch of tramps, resigned to having to trawl DVD bargain bins for their fixes,
while us blu-ray owners lord it over them like kings.

I'm kidding...

No I dont mind. Not unless its like the Bruce Lee set where they layer new foley effects over all the punches & kicks. Or Dragon Dynasty's Tai Chi Master where it just sounds completely horrible. Ive actually been enjoying K&R's 7.1 remixes becuz they accomodate my home theatre set-up and they sound reasonbly good.

An old topic, but having looked at the screenshots on the review, it doesn't seem HD - one sign is when the bar and image blur together (example: compare both HK Blu-rays of this).

I remember a comparison (no longer available) in which HKL was preferable to Fortune Star's master, but see this, which features Miramax and Splendid - included because I believe the latter and Kam use the same source (Fortune Star), except Splendid may have masked the blur themselves.

Generally speaking, I think it's best to judge by each disc as it can depend on the master, and regardless of when a disc is released. I believe most Fortune Star titles transferred within the last few (or slightly longer) years are genuine HD ('Armour of God' was done twice - compare Blu-rays: older master on HK and newer on UK), but with exception to a handful of the older ones (from perhaps 2002? e.g. 'City Hunter'), most of the output we've had consists of upscales.
