Really like how the Aventador looks close to the Diablo.

Mecum is live on HD Theater from KC. Lots of cars that are in GT5 plus some that should.

73 convertible stingray went for only 16k

They have a Parnelli Jones 2007 tribute Mustang with a real 302 in it just went for 31k but did not make 35k reserve initially. Signed by Parnelli Jones and in school bus yellow.

I was also reading up on Valentino Balboni. He was Lamborgini's longest test driver. You can see him in the 1985 60 minutes clip. They made a car to honor him in 2009 for 2010 model year, a 2 wheel drive Gallardo. He said he preferred how a 2 wheel car drove over the 4 wheel. It was their first 2 wheel drive since 1999. But what I was reading was that to expect more 2 wheel drive exotics in the future from Lamborgini and others. That would rock!

1950 Ford truck just on Mecum. What a beauty, black with $2000 worth of chrome. 21 grand. LOVE to have one of those old trucks and this was sweet and easily usable to drive everyday. They could have loaded GT5 up with those old trucks. They have a huge history in the U.S. in our car culture, although they did a nice selection of modern trucks. I would have loved to win one of those instead of a freakn midget II. lol.

That earlier figure was the electronically limited top end.

Back in the early 90s, the Jaguar XJ220 was considered a supercar. It’s 500 hp engine made it the fastest Jaguar ever produced with a 1992 top speed run of 217.1 mph. Now flash foward 17 years later where that record gets shattered by a sedan. Jag took its new XFR to the Bonneville Salt Flats to record a top speed of 225.675mph.

Dont forget the modified ECU, intake, exhaust and supercharger. I wonder what its real HP was for that run. Ohh and all the aero parts put on the car.

And I think the official production XJ220 top seed was 213.x because the 217.x speed was set when some modifications made to the car.

And don't forget the engine was untouched internally and same with the transmission. Some things were required to change the car for safety reasons. I don't know if they thought that would lower the top end and that was what they did to compensate it. And don't forget there were several versions of the XJ220 and I don't know which version set the 217 record or what it had done to it and its hard to tell what version was eventually sold because there were changes from the initial concept that people didn't like and the motor was changed. And wasn't it $650,000??? In 1992??? I mean come on, that car costs 10 times what this one does.

Engine internals shouldnt need to be changed. On my personal car I went from 300hp to 375hp with just a turbo back exhaust and remapped ECU. So a car with 510hp with that many mods was probably making 600-650hp.

Safety changes was probably a roll cage which might or might not have added weight, not that it would have mattered much since those speed runs are over a flying mile.

But all my trying to get across is the speed run they made and are giving to the production car should be taken with a grain of salt because a production car didnt do 230+mph.

When they remove the speed limiter and dont modify the car and then do the same top speed let me know because that would be impressive.

And what I am saying is that you are talking about comparing this sedan to a car that cost as much as a Veyron in today's money (1992 $650,000) and looks like it was built for the track, to compete with the exotics of the day, not for taking the wife and kids to dinner in style and not worrying about if it will be there when you get back. I have no quams considering this new Jag the fastest ever considering the poor sales and astronomical price of the XJ22) and it not being available in the U.S. like this model will be.

Jag is the one comparing them not me. Or maybe you just misquoted them and meant to say fastest production sedan.

But if not and they really meant fastest production car then every car they put into production has to be compared against it.

I'm not the one quoting them. And this is what was said about the modifications,

Modifications to the car were minor, with some aerodynamic work and safety features added to make the car suitable for a Bonneville run.

Didn't they test that on Top Gear US? I can't remember but they had a speed test of 3 different lambos and I don't remember if the Balboni or the Superleggera won. But yeah, the Balboni is nice, and a good honor to him.

Hey guys, I finally got my X2010 today and have it shared out if anyone wants to use it. I just borrow other people's so that I'm not racking up mileage on my own. I didn't have time to break in the engine though so it is at 975 PP right now. I did gear the transmission down to a max speed of 300mph though.

Hey thanks for checking on PSN. I got the Lupo via the B-spec race and using that car A-spec was an easy win (haven't tried B-spec yet) so I think I'm good.

You quoting them.

Replacing an intake and exhaust and remapping an ECU isnt hard to do thats why they are "minor" changes.

As for the XJ220 changes they were the removal of catalytic converters and changing the max RPM from 7200 to 7900. And that gave them basically 5mph extra top speed.

And its really not that big of a deal to me so no need to contact Jag. You are the one that decided you had a point to make (what ever that might be) when I brought up the XJ220. I figured you were talking about the XKR-S since you posted a picture of it (and its 180mph speed) after talking about the so called fastest jag without giving any reference to XFR.
