Panasonic Plasmas...need some SERIOUS help

Hi all,

I am yet another forum member here looking to make the move to a Panasonic plasma.

Here is my situation:

- My current set is a 50" 720p Samsung plasma
- My seating distance is about 6 feet
- I live in CANADA (so our pricing is certainly different than the US)
- My absolutely ceiling for price is $2000 (before taxes...less is better of course)
- I only want 50" (or slightly bigger, but definitely not less)
- I do NOT care about 3D in the slightest
- My only concern is picture quality for price (i.e. I do not care about internet connectivity, sound of the TV speakers, weird gadgets etc)
- THX is important, but if someone can convince me it's not, I can live without it


I know the 2011 Pannys are rolling out now...this means I can wait to get one of those, or get a good deal on a 2010. My issue is the dreaded "FLOATING BLACKS"...I have read A LOT on them, but I hear so many conflicting reports.

So which models are affected? How obvious is it? Do the 2011's suffer from them as well? Should it deter me from a Panny plasma? etc etc (any info is appreciated)



The current deals I can see on 2010 Panny's in Canada are the following:
