I really hope this will be Region Free.
But we have time, I've read in an interview that the boxset will be released soon before the start of Season 2.
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Saw the final two episodes last night....WOW! Much better than Camelot and I'm a HUGE fan of the Authurian legend.
Looking forward to this coming out on blu!

I have not read the books, so I'm not overly familiar with this series short of the watching the episodes...but how can they get away with
[Show spoiler]killing the main star: Ned Stark(Sean Bean)??
that really was unexpected IMO!

Phenomenal series and already looks great in broadcast so I can't imagine how good it will look on BD! Also looking forward to the improvement with lossless audio.

Did anyone end up liking this show after they initially hated it after the first couple of episodes? Or should I just avoid it if I thought the first 2 eps were pretty meh?

The first few episodes are "set-up" episodes with introductions and such. They are a bit slow, but the season ramps up quickly Once you get to episodes 4-5, things pick up, and from 6 onward, the show really gets going

Highly reccomended, and I will pick this up when it comes out

Without a doubt, if you are into this genre keep on watching! It was a slow start, but I think with all the characters they had to do it that way for development. Give it a try, I don't think you'll be let down.

I was only able to catch the first episode cuz it was an HBO free weekend I wanted to keep watching it though. I think this will be a safe blind buy for me I don't mind slower pacing in set up...I mean it's a series not a 2 hr. film. To me that is one of the biggest benefits for a series...the ability to take time and really live and discover a world, a time and place and the characters that inhabit it (as long as it's done right).
Fun Fact: I am the same height ( 5'1'') as Carrie Fisher, Jean Harlow, Holly Hunter, Christina Ricci, Emilie De Ravin, Anna Kendrick, Kristen Bell...yes great things do come in small packages :)

Since Season 2 of Game of Thrones is set to begin airing in the Spring of 2012, HBO really needs to get Season 1 into stores on Blu-ray before the Holiday buying season begins this year.

Does the first season, end like the book does, or does it end somewhere in the middle?

If the first season covers the events of the first book, A Song of Ice and Fire would have been a better name for the show.

Wow! I'm assuming you read the books. I'm not even going to ask how all that happens

I really hope this comes out before Christmas!

Awesome serious and a great adaptation of an awesome book. And yes the First Season finishes as the first book ends with a couple of scenes from the second book thrown in. I really think Game of Thrones the title suits the whole series.

Bring on Season 2 fast!

Does Barnes§Noble charge after ordering or after shipping?

First season ended just like the first book. Looks like it will be 1 book = 1 season, so season 2 will be A Clash of Kings.
