So, how do you decide on buying a book?
I used to read a lot, but that was a long time ago. I've decided to start reading again but I'm lost when looking for new books to read.

i've been relying on people i know on recommending books that they've read or have been told if they are good or not.
or if i see a cover that grabs my attention, i'll research what it's about online and then go from there. that's what happened w/the set of books i'm currently reading......"ranger's apprentice".....i saw one @ a local store, went online and read about the general story and have been getting them from the library the last couple of weeks. This is quite often the case for me. If it's on politics, science, or current events, I'll then check out who the author is. If he/she does not have a Ph.D., most likely I will pass it up.

I'm sadly among the generation of people who quit reading regularly when the Internet became popular, but I've started with actual books again. Most of the time, I won't buy something based on reviews or comments. The subject has to actually interest me. If it does, and the book is reasonably priced, I'll go for it. Speaking of which, the last couple I read were "Black Belt Patriotism" by Chuck Norris, and "Always Looking Up" by Michael J. Fox.
