Watched this tonight, got it for 10 bucks at Wal Mart, the PQ didn't seem that great for this one. Great movie though.

A decent Blu-Ray-- I'm disappointed no extras have been produced for it other than the few deleted scenes. Criterion needs to get their hands on this flick.

Did you compare it with the DVD release? I wonder if there is much of a difference looking at them back to back.

DVD has cast & crew "biography/filmography" text screens, Blu-ray does not.

DVD has trailer in SD, Blu-ray has trailer in HD.

All other extra are the same.

I notice that a lot of these have not been carried over from the DVD to the BD, but it doesn't really matter when we have sites like IMDB.

IMDB, Wikipedia, the entire internets pretty much renders these cast & crew info screens moot on DVD. For Blu-ray, some discs do have cast & crew info which is updated via BD-Live but not a lot of people would care about this info.

Some DVDs did offfer "DVD-Rom" internet connections to IMDB but the screens never changed. You always had to put in a computer and see the updated info that way, a waste of time with the vastness of the internets.

There also is really no point in carrying them over from DVD to BD especially when the info was "current" as of the DVD's production.

There is definitely a noticeable difference (on my 61" set). It looks sharper and more detailed. That being said, it will never be reference material.

I think it looks good. But, then again, I'm not too picky.
"Does the Blu-ray version of '.......' look better than it's DVD version?"

I'm so sick of this question. 99% of Blu-rays look better than their DVD counterpart. Period.

I also picked this up on the blind. Great movie and I was pleased with the transfer. Over all great BD. Worth the $10 I paid for sure.
