Your opinion for a 1080P PC monitor?

If you want to do this through analog (vga) you can add AnyDVD HD (no HTPC should be without it). Just make sure that your monitors resolution meets or exceeds 1900x1080, your card already does - you can get a picture better than some high-end theaters with the right pc. I hope this helps.

I thought that setting the monitor as a HDTV was a very good idea. But now i know it wasn't.

My graphic card has two DVI outputs. And considering 1080p resolution for Blu-Ray movies if my monitor has both DVI and HDMI inputs is it a better idea to use a DVI-HDMI cable to connect the graphic card to the monitor or it won't make any difference and so i can use a DVI-DVI cable.

Glad to help - enjoy your Blu-ray on HTPC and keep your Powerdvd Ultra Updated. Anydvd HD will get rid of the HDCP requirement so you could use a digital monitor and an analog monitor (projector with no dvi or hdmi) at the same time. Excellent tool - had to do this until my 3x2 HDMI switcher/amp came - just waiting for my 35 ft hdmi cable to go total HDMI (HDIM on my monitor - VGA on my Projector but its still fully progressive scan in computer mode - just like a monitor).

So considering your reply i think i should buy a S-PVA panel instead of the more common TN since it is better color quality. I hope the price is not too high ... Well, honestly I don't really know if you would notice a difference. Panel quality can be subjective to the point where one person wouldn't see much of a difference , if at all, and another might find it completely unacceptable. If you've ever seen any of the Apple displays (all are S-IPS panels with the exception, I believe, of the 20in) in action I would say the Samsung I listed is close to them for color quality.

As for DVI-DVI/DVI-HDMI it doesn't really matter - you'll get the same picture in the end.

Really like this one mainly because of the HDMI support as well as the Gloss Finish. I have the previous model Gateway but this one is a little better with the added features. If anyone wants to buy my previous 24 inch model let me know.

As I stated in an earlier post you're about 5 weeks too late, as I've sold one of those brand new back in December. It was a good deal too. Too bad.

BTW, you should probably get that Gateway. It's a heck of a monitor.
