Help with picking a new 40" set (United Kingdom)

In our living room, we currently have an (old) LG "37 HD ready set. I mostly watch blu-rays on my new 32" fullHD set in my bedroom.

However, we feel it's time to finally upgrade the living room TV to a fullHD set, preferably around the 40" size.

I'm just wondering if anybody has seen any good deals of late (our price range is around £300, maybe a little higher) and if so, could you please post them here? I'm looking for online deals and in-store deals - not looking to buy a second hand set.

I'm hoping for good speakers built in too, as we don't really have the money for a surround-sound speaker set right now! The speakers in our current old TV are pretty awful of late, possibly due to old age
