On January 1st, Japanese pop singer Ayumi Hamasaki will be releasing a Blu-ray box set containing all of her music videos from 1998-2011. That's 100 music videos total on 4 BDs.
There will be a LE with a special box and a bag as well as a standard edition: BD (Limited Edition), 4 Discs: AVXD-91642~5 C/W: A special grand BOX + A specially-made bag Price: ¥24,150 BD, 4 Discs: AVXD-91646~9 C/W: Sleeve-casing Price: ¥22,050 Hamasaki ties Michael Jackson on the list of the most expensive music videos ever made. Are there any Ayu fans here considering this? |

Of course its an upconvert release. Even as an Ayu fan, I was so sure that Avex won't put any effects to remaster ALL music videos. Unlike those excellent concert BDs this release is clearly a rip-off.

Even so, it's not that bad. The clips do look better since they're not as compressed, the widescreen videos now fill the screen, and it's pretty cool to have 30-35 videos on one disc. Many of her videos have great production values. Audio is PCM 2.0. |
