What is the general consensus on the polk monitor II speakers for home theater?

The general consensus around here is to pick out several brands of speakers and go audition them for yourself (which is rightfully so. You should compare before you settle on anything.) With that being said, I just purchased the Monitor 70s Series II. For the price, they are excellent speakers. I know there are better speakers out there, but these 70s are "the best bang for your buck" speakers and I thoroughly enjoy them. I also have other Polks for the rest of my setup and I'm not disappointed in the least.

I've heard the 70s/cs2 setup a bunch, and for the price I think they are great for home theatre stuff. Very solid entry level setup.

[Show spoiler]you didn't ask about subs, and I don't care for the polk subs that I have heard, but the speakers I like a lot for the price range.

I agree fully with silo and rock. I just sold my monitor 60s and cs2, but had them for about 3 years and was very satisfied for the price I paid (about 350 total). The polk sub I had I sold after a month or two though, so I wasn't as satisfied with that...
