How is $199 too much for 22 movies? $9.09 a blu-ray is pretty dirt cheap.

Its to much because most real Bond fans have already bought most, if not all, of the existing BDs sans the unreleased 9. For me personally there needs to be more savings before I double-dip and/or hassle with unloading my existing collection.

My limit for this is $129.99...I already own 9 films. Don't want to pay to re-buy them. I'll hold out for awhile...I still think it might only be 149-179 on release week with a possible BF deal for 129-149.
It doesn't matter because if the price goes up or down Amazon will give you the lowest price between when you order it and it's released, irregardless of how much it was when you ordered it.

I pre-ordered the other day. It was in my Gold Box for $189 so I figured I'd snag it and when the price goes down, I'll still get a discount on top of the new lower price (I think it works that way). If not oh well, I can just cancel and wait for BF. Either way; I'll probably still get it.

LOL well that's not really realistic... For a set of 22 movies, it's a great deal, period. Whether or not you already purchased some of the movies has no bearing on the price and value of THIS set as a whole. That's like saying, just because you already own a car, your new car should be half off. Commerce has never worked that way, although I'm sure many wish it did.

I bought all the previous blu-rays and just sold them for around $12 each on ebay, so I got my money back.

You get the 24.99 price. You get the lowest pre-order price during the period you made the pre-order, not the history of the product. Amazon has told many members this here before, including myself. Otherwise they wouldn't even bother to raise their prices during the pre-order period because they would be giving refunds/adjustments to everyone. They raise the prices during the period in order to try and get sales from unaware people.

I'm very much aware of how Amazon preorder price guarantee works, as I've been using it for several years. I just stated what you said was not true, as you've just now stated.
You said "only if you preorder it before the price goes down"
Not true, the price could still down again after you preorder. So what you said is not accurate.

You are correct about the pre-order price promise though, it's during your pre-order the promise applies not the whole pre-order time period.

Great, another ridiculous semantics argument re: Amazon pre-order price policies.

Nobody ever said anything about the price being lowered after an order is placed but you had to have your little freak-out.

Almost in the same boat as you. My wife bought the complete James Bond dvd set that Amazon had on special for $100 a few years back - I sold it for about $130ish last fall. Cost-wise, I come out slightly ahead which is fine for me in this instance. I also had the Bond 11 blu ray set that I sold off as well (and came out ahead on that one too). Now, as long as I make this the last Bond blu ray set that I purchase for a while, I will be happy.

If I had to guess, I would say yes. However, it remains unconfirmed.

Just note that Casino Royale will most probably be the UK edited version so there is a difference there.

Not sure how accurate this is, but dvdaf.com has this being released on 10/2/12. I guess we'll know for sure in the coming months!

Damn, I hadn't thought of that. Looks like that's one 007 movie I'll have to keep the single Blu of.
