another classic western coming in April.
this is just insane how many of these US classics are about to come out in France.

Got this Blu Ray from France yesterday.
Good things first.
The image improved over both DVD versions I owned before (one German, and the Fox Western Classics Box).
Some landscape scenes are really impressive in detail, contrast and sharpness.
Colours look very natural nearly like in a modern movie.
Good job, I doubt there will be a better version soon.
There is some bonus material with French movie buffs talking about the film (French only).

Bad news are the French subtitles in the English version, and no you can't switch them off. Not in the menu and none of my two Blu Ray players could.
Hard to believe, strange politics.

I enjoyed the movie nevertheless because it's so widescreen that the subtitles usually stay in the black bar on the bottom.
And who knows I may learn French this way .

there are lots of great classic films out on bd in Europe that members in the US need to get info on, so if you look through these forums and see other titles that you can comment on please do so.
