Projector is for sale (and screen but only local pickup) if anyone is interested. Looking at 65"+ 3dtvs to replace it with.
Good luck on the hunt.

65"+ huh? Nice. Any brand(s) in mind? Panasonic usually gets great reviews now that the Pioneer KUROs are no longer being made.

House offer was counter-offered which I then re-counter-offered. Price will be agreed upon regardless. So assuming no problems till closing time I guess I have a house.

Those Mitsubishi 3D DLPs are are tempting. I like the 82'' one and seems to get real favorable reviews plus the price is reasonable on those. I don't know. I've got appliances, carpet, av stand, and a receiver to buy first.

That's cool & hopefully promising on the house front - good luck buddy.

On the 3D DLP from Mits., I'm sure the price is very good
[Show spoiler](being they're "DLP" vice Plasma/LED/OLED)
. Much less than a (3D) Proj./Screen setup. We know you'll figure it out & it'll look amazing. Don't forget the SUB!

I just did the car thing. I like things done right away and no hassles. The buying a house thing seems like a big hassle all that is involved. I've no patience at all sometimes. Good thing I'm not married or have kids (that I know of... ). The speaker thing is easy. Lol I can buy/sell speakers in no time easy. I've got Dynaudio Contour 3.4s in piano black coming when I get this living situation figured out.

Buying a house is a lot of work sean.....you definitely need to have your paperwork organized and ready. Add in the game of bidding on a price, then the home inspections, appraisal to determine the actual value of the house, who will pay for what between you and the seller at settlement, having the actual money ready to settle with and then having everyone present to sign at the settlement table can be very daunting and no doubt a hassle. Did I mention crossing your fingers that there are no delays between the present and the tentative settlement date as well? Settlement dates can get pushed back for multiple reasons (usually the sellers) which can really screw you up as far as finding a place to live in the meantime. Yep, it's "real" and "fun, but not "real fun."

Good luck!

Well I'm not dealing with the bank so that hassle isn't there. The house is re-possessed and I think Fannie Mae has it. The flooring needs re-done at the place, appliances, some painting in the kitchen, deep cleaning, and when it gets warmer I'm going to paint the house a different color. Oh yea...my offer was accepted.

Congrats. Hope it's not an FHA loan or you have a long way to go.

You know what I'm excited about? Peace and quiet. That or actually being able to sit back, drink a few, and relax to music. I guess the general consensus is that I should have a house welcoming party. I might just have to oblige to that request.

I would come if it wasn't in the middle of Iowa.

It's nice here and the weather has been rather warm/unusual for this winter. Another month or so and it should be really nice. Ask Hamp as he was in the area for awhile. I assume he didn't think it was all bad.

That was quick...lol, I probably still have a month or two yet before I settle on a place.

Great time to buy though, I'm glad you have put in your chips and gone for it. Think you are going to do a lot of renovation work or just leave the house mostly as is?

Well I am really happy that you were able to find a place that you can call your own. So when does everything get finalized?
