Darn it. Now I'm tempted to buy it. Does anybody know if the quality is good compared to the other regions? And since you posted it, I'm assuming it's maybe region free? Any info would be good.

Yes. I have the set, and it's a nice set, and a good show. Worth the $30.99

Looking around, about the best price I can see right now would be just under $80 to pick up all four volumes. A complete season collection on DVD can be had for under $25. Guess I'm not going to pay to watch K-On! on Blu-ray, much as I'd like to. I might still end up watching it, though.

Yes! It is one of my all time favorites. I own the 3 seperate releases since the set was not released until later. It is also the reason for my avatar pic.

Why did I have to stumble over this? Now I'm tempted to add this to my upcoming yesasia order.

I have the UK DVD set, but disc 1 had some annoying NTSC/PAL coversion stutter (which would justify the upgrade, at least that's what I'll tell myself )

Have you read the manga? I tried to like these movies but just couldn't, I got bored. The manga I liked.

Yeah, the show looks good and I am very tempted to get it even though I despise G1 packaging for blu-rays. Do you know the difference between the Limited Edition and the Regular Edition?

The manga is probably the best I've ever read (followed by Monster and Skip Beat). No movie can ever reach the original work. Still liked the movie, though.

I wonder if any of Funimation's DVD case releases will be getting quiet replacements as new stock is ordered with actual Blu-ray cases in their weird new DVD sized slip covers. I'd love to finally be able to purchase the two Eden of the East films to go with my Blu-ray set of the series.

I almost ordered the UK releases until I realized that they were region locked.

Probably not. The case change is only for the releases going forward.

Got my copy of Mardock Scramble today:

AVC
Japanese DTS-HD MA 5.1 (looks like it might be 24bit as it hovers around 3mbps).
English Subs (Yellow) - have not checked if the subs are forced or can be turned off
BD50 (each cut is a separate encode - 18GB for DC and 17GB for TC)
Region A locked

You select at the top menu which version you want to watch. I only looked at a few scenes, but it looks like the digital grain on the Japanese release is present here as well.

Honestly, I don't think it's TOO far fetched. I was at Megacon and asked Rojas of Funimation at their booth, and he said it isn't impossible, but their main focus is pushing forward and seeing how sales would dictate if they continue the BD-sized combo's in a DVD-sized slip.

For those who don't know him by name, Funimation's YouTube channels holds interviews and "live" (uploaded to their YouTube account later) Q&A's, and he is one of the guys who is there week in, week out. Really cool guy.
