$1465.08. All in the last 8 months and mostly all to Amazon. About 75% of that was spent on replacing films I have on DVD.

I have spent a lot more to store my collection that I have to buy the actual titles which are less than my incremental storage cost per film. I suspect this will likely always be the case.

Seriously though, do you guys count the cost of the BluRays but not the rack you store it on? For those with huge collections, do you figure in the cost of the portion of square footage of your house you use to display it? Those are both costs that need to be taken into account at some point...

Combined with my HT equipment? I would have to commit a samurai seppuku after I did the calculations.

Default SteelBook fever

About 40 SteelBooks, add about 5 Amarays because they are a foreign Blu has an improvement over the standard US version of a movie I care to own or an impulse buy of a favorite demo movie on sale. I buy some steels because I like the art and after research the movies are highly regarded. Holding off on other movies until I find a nice SteelBook. Kind of the definition of SteelBook fever, eh?

Average $31 each x 45 titles = $1,400 since I started a couple of months ago. I've almost run out of movies that I want that are available in SteelBook form. Hopefully I taper off before I get to $2,000.

Already rockin' a 60" Kuro. Everything else must go. Now to buy $15K of speakers, add $10K audio equipment and room treatment for nice surround system, so I can open and watch my Blu's.

then then . Gotta spend it on somethin'

Default *ouch* the question that hurts ;-)

i'd rather not calculate it...

Especially since more than 40 % of my collection is from the 2010s... (thx to BR.com's statistics... ).

But the main reason i really really dont want to know, is that my girl could find out ;-)) and rip my head off... real clean...

So like a very old chinese wise guy once said : "if you dont want to know the answer, don't ask !!!"

It is better if I don't try to figure it out. Every once in awhile the gf makes a guess at what the collection is worth (dvd and blu-ray) and I just try to convince her she is guessing too high.

At a guess I would say about 7000 on blu-rays, about 5000 on DVD and about 14000 on CDs.

$4720.96
634 Blu-Ray
Average Cost per Blu-Ray $7.44

That includes entire seasons of T.V. shows. Without the seasons I'm somewhere around $6.93 average cost per Blu-Ray.

I used to be around $5.81, but my buy rules have slipped recently. I need to work on that.

Probably a little over $1200 or so. But I wait for specials and also by used from video stores, so that amount goes a long way. To get an idea of the # of DVDs and Blu-rays, I recently added 32 feet of shelf space to the 16 feet I already had, and now it's almost all full
