So there's a lot of debate in this thread of the quality of the 3D or the movies use of it. So here's a 30 minute interview with ILMs John Knoll on supervising the 3D conversion, the movies use of 3D, shooting in 3D, decisions on where the convergence point should be on a shot by shot basis , floating windows and briefly touching on the new colour timing for Episode 1 for Blu-ray and 3D. And for anyone that watched Rango we also find out Gore Verbinski heavily considered releasing that in 3D. http://www.fxguide.com/fxguidetv/fxg...oll-on-stereo/

The main problem would have been Ep.1, as that's the lesser of the 6 films with Jar Jar. Ep.2 will most likely continue this succes, thus ensuring the OT in 3D.

Whether you like Titanic or not, the 3D in Titanic 3D blew the water out of Phantom Menace! I don't know if Lucasfilm did the post-conversition as cheaply as possible or it really was an "artistic" decision like John Knoll claims. Either way, James Cameron has proven he knows how to do 3D right, even with films that were shot in 1997. Hopefully Lucasfilm will take note of the 3D in Titanic to do it right for the next ones.
