Not sure if this means anything but this site shows it (with no release date yet) and I notice it is listed at 16 minutes LONGER than the Panasonic exclusive.....maybe that is an indication it will be the extended version?

Oh Oh, does not look like the German one is the extended edition. I hope at least the U.S. get's the extended edition.

I'm not really worried about this release. I have the Collectors Edition blu ray that has the extended version on it. I also have the 3D version that comes with the Panasonic players. Unless one nice comprehensive version comes out, I will just stick with what I have.

Funny thing is, I am not even much of a fan of the movie, just fantastic demo material.

The US will likely get the same as the Panasonic exclusive, which is the theatrical version. They're not going to produce that as a timed exclusive and then come out with an extended 3D disc.

I don't see why the US wouldn't get an extended 3D release after all it was re-released back into IMAX theaters as such.

I freakin waited too long to send my form in and missed the deadline. maybe if I had known how much it was going for on ebay, then I would have been motivated to send it in. doh!

Lol watch them release the regular Panasonic blu ray 3D edition first and then sometime down the road release the Extended Edition blu ray 3D so as to make people double dip. Seems like a good idea to get more money out of people.

Technically, that would be(in most cases) a triple dip...assuming you, at least, bought one of the 2D versions. A quadruple dip if you bought both 2D versions. Then factor in the inevitable steelbook, and it's no wonder why this movie made so much money!

I just sold mine for about 120 bucks on amazon. I figured that I should sell it and wait for the retail one, this way I can use the money I made and buy it and still have about 70 left over. Not too bad I think. If they have a 3D release with all the discs that have been released before than I might as well sell my extended edition also, but I'll wait and see first.

Add to that the fact that it was re-released as a SE version in theaters. So, some people may pony up for 6 different versions--two theatrical versions, two 2D blu rays, and 2 3d blu rays.

Wasn't the "middle" special edition the one re-release in theaters with 9 minutes of extra footage, and the 16 minute the extended cut with the alternate opening on Earth, making it a total 16 minutes to the original run time?
