I never found the ethernet updates to work in the past, so for the last few updates I used the CD method which worked smoothly.

Does anyone have DVD playback problems like I have and have any fixes?
Here's the setup samsung 1500 to onkyo 706 to a samsung TV via HDMI. I'm playing a custom made DVD burned to a DVD-R. I start the samsung player, see the samsung logo on the tv. Put in the DVD, it loads, says menu on the display of the player. The TV goes to no signal. Its like the player and the onkyo fail to handshake. If I switch inputs on the onkyo away from the blueray and back it sometimes re-handshakes fine (DVD and menu are displayed) and works, sometimes fails to handshake (no signal again). Ideas? Im running older firmware, something 2.x. |

Lately within the past month or so I've experienced Audio dropouts from the Dolby True HD tracks when playing Evangelion 1.11 & 2.22, and recently Transformers Dark of the Moon on the BDP-1500.
To alleviate this problem I went into System Menu to tweak the audio settings, no dropouts while playing in re-encoded DTS surround. To date I haven't had any dropouts with DTS HD tracks from my library. Apologies if I'm beating a dead horse, don't know if anyone else experienced this issue. Trying to determine if it's the player as a result of the F/W update, the Insignia AV receiver or the discs authoring. Hoping it's a component issue. Any insight/advice would be most welcome, thanks! |

Anyone else having trouble actually updating to the new firmware? I tried updating once through an ethernet connection and two other times via cd and both times it has come up with an error. The player itself doesn't necessarily need updating cause its working fine but its just nice to have it up to date.
