I've heard the 683s and CM8 & 9s. Of course the CMs are nicer, but not sure if the price difference is worth it for my setup and my room. May have to hold off on new speakers and a new projector till we move. I can just squirrel some money away.

Actually, I am very happy with what I have and movies and music sound pretty good. I can say I listen to the CDs and BDs, I don't listen to the gear.

I can't say that, I'm definitely guilty of listening to the gear. I go through phases with that, sometimes I listen to the gear too much and then over analyze things. Other times I just watch or listen and not worry about it. When the material I'm watching or listening to is good I find it easier, I've had just as good of an experience watching some material on our small bedroom system as I have down in the basement. I will say that's one thing I would like to start to get away from more, listening to the gear.

Saving money until you have a better space to use the gear in sounds like a good idea, just don't spend it all on bd's.

Just added a few more to my wish list. Thought I had almost everything that I NEED. Now my list is over 60.

They might not be for you, listening is definetly in order. But I thought the Lektor 6s were similar to the CM8s overall, but for the price of the 683s.

The Ribbons don't have much vertical dispersion which Is why I took them down from the ceiling. It helped my back row since the seats are right against the wall. With domes the dispersion is even all around so I think it could work for both depending where you sit I guess.

Got the acoustic panels ordered today. Didn't go with the corner tri-traps right now due to the shipping cost, that put me over budget. Ordered 8 four inch thick panels to start with, that's enough to cover the first reflection points and a panel behind each of the main speakers. Expecting them in roughly two weeks.

Gonna listen to some vinyl tonight WITHOUT it hooked up and then install it tomorrow, and play the same LP's. I'm really looking forward to the next few days with it! Thanks again!

Congrats on the panels Andrew. For first reflection though, you'd be better off with 2" thick panels. They are better at absorbing the higher frequencies, which is what you want on the first reflection. I'm sure the 4" will still be good though.

Thanks Alex, I'll need to do some more acoustic treatment so I could switch out the 4' for some 2' later. This will at least give me a good start and be better than nothing. I plan on ordering some more sometime in the next couple of months.

Do you plan on adding any diffusers?

I thinking I should put some on the back wall and have been considering putting some on the ceiling but not sure whether some panels or diffusers would be better on the ceiling.
