I was under the impression it's for all their Disney related prints because the Ansin Tron set will have a variant sideshow release at some point.

This might be the exact stand the FYE had. $353 new - could probably snag one for $100 on craigslist or out of business sale. The hunt begins!

so ive had this poster for a while.. original French La Planete Sauvage (Fantastic Planet) Poster i picked up a while back. It Measure 47 x 63



And i was actually thinking instead of custom framing it. I would try go another route and see if i myself could do something like using Plexi.



Would it cost me more if i did it myself? or should i just shell out the money to get it framed?

Also.. Any ideas on how i could remove the crease folds from this poster.. it came folded.. so..i really want to flatten it out.

I'd be curious to hear what Kinsella has to say about trying to get the folds out of the poster... the fact that the poster was folded originally I think is a something you want to maintain and attempts to remove the folds would likely lead to damage and remove some of the 'proof' that it is an original. I'll be honest and say I'm making this theory up off the top of my head as I do not really collect posters prior to the 2000's and those have all really come rolled. I'd also gladly listen to anything Kinsella may have to say about posters coming folded in the past or any other history he tends to add to this topic

I would think the plexi would be more expensive, depending on your source of the plexi.

I'm about the buy my first movie poster for my room and was wondering which site is the best to buy from? So far i found this-

I know there are different kinds; real, fake etc. Im not looking for the most authentic posters, just something of good quality.

Also what does style A mean?

Those look awesome...speaking of PCC I see those Exorcist and Cabin in the woods prints they did went super fast on the site today. It looks like PCC is becoming the go to artists for Mondo recently.

I believe "style A/B/C" is just a naming convention, if there are 3 different posters made by a studio they follow the letter naming. Then there are companies that make reprints/unofficial prints that the studio didn't create and just continue to follow that naming. So thats why you'll see stuff like "Style F" or "Style D" when there was really only one "official' poster put out for the film's release.

Yeah there are some other sites devoted to posters which are good and I think I know which one you were referring to with regards to discussion of the seller bradburied who I too have heard deals in a lot of reprints and fakes too. From what I have noticed in the past those who deal with fakes sometimes intermix originals for newer films as well, so you may have an original for Star Trek First Contact and perhaps they sell reprints of older titles.

That is because they don't look at posters as being collectibles. The company that ships the posters for the Disney club probably think its a five dollar poster that someone is going to tack on their walls, they dont see the collectibility of it. The studio distribution channels that ship to theaters are the same way, movie posters are basically big colorful pieces of paper that are solely designed to promote the film, there is no extra care put into packaging, they just toss the poster into a tube and ship them out, and during transit most of the posters shift back and forth causing edge wear. Generally you can tell on eBay when someone is selling a poster they got from a theater when they state it has edge damage. Because original movie posters aren't intended to be for the public or for sale, they only provide enough protection (aka tube) for the posters to arrive in displayable condition, and then they are handled by theater employees and once taken down, they are generally rolled up with rubber bands around them (another no-no).

I can't imagine there would not be a variant for Ansin's Tron/Tron Legacy set, I remember hearing there would be a variant of each and offered through Sideshow, but nothing has been offered. Since Mondo offers the standard and Sideshow offers the variants of the Disney-related prints, I am surprised they have not offered it yet. You could be right though, perhaps they are only doing variants of the Whalen prints....and speaking of which, while I am not surprised how fast the Mondo ones sell out, I am rather shocked that the Sideshow Whalen variants aren't selling out. Doing a search on Sideshow's site for "Mondo" you can find three variants for sale still, including a wood variant.
