i jus bought a Sony STR-DH520 7.1 and i want your guy's input for a good speaker setup for this receiver, which i got for less then 100 bucks which is why i got it, but i was thinkin bose for the main 5 speakers and 2 polk audio floor standing speakers for the rear surround and a 300 watt polk audio subwoofer but what do you guy think i should do?

I do not recommend Bose speakers for a home theater setup. Also, your most important speakers should be your center channel and fronts and yet you seem to be saving the best (Polk towers) for the rears.

You could easily go with Polk for everything.
Center channel Polk CS10
Fronts Polk TSi400
Side and rear surrounds Polk TSi100
Sub Polk PSW10

I just slapped that list together in 5 minutes and you could certainly go higher up in Polk's range if you have the budget. But that setup right there will give you better sound than Bose. Period.

If you specify a budget we can help you narrow it down even more. It might also be good to know what kind of space you have, how you plan on using this setup (music, movies, games, a little bit of everything?), and what equipment you have already if any. Hope that helps!

You should change the Polk TSi series for the Monitor series , they are the same speaker different cosmetic cabinet but much cheaper truth Newegg .

Follow Almadacr's advice and switch it up for the Monitor series for the best price. Polk's entry level stuff should give you the best bang for minimal buck unless you hunt around for some sweet used deals. Polk's products are great for entering the world of high-end audio.

Something like these Polk Monitor70s for fronts and these Polk Monitor40s for surrounds could upgrade that list.

Play around with it a bit, and if you have any other questions or want to get opinions on your final list just post away.

jeez those polk speakers are cheap in the states, the cheapest I have seen them here new is about $2000nz or $1800 US for the pair of floorstanders. Your budget speakers are our mid to high end.
