A 5min 3D special from the UK SKY3D. It looks so much better on my TV! Some of those shots have such amazing depth!!!
That looks amazing on my LG passive monitor, great depth, some of the water shots are just amazing considering they were 2D originally of course.

I wish the person who put that up didn't re-edit the video to cut out more than half of it and just show clips only. I saw the whole 13 minute video online in 2D and it was great.

By making that an edited bunch of disconnected clips the person who put it up also sacrificed the video quality because in order to re-edit it to cut stuff out, it obviously had to be re-encoded.

I decided not to drive 25 miles to watch Titanic 3D in an IMAX theater. I saw it in RealD 3D. It was the best 3D conversion I have ever seen. I hope it works as well on the 3D BD that I have preordered from Amazon.

The 3D conversion (a process I've always disliked) has been getting excellent reviews. The following Times article is definitely worth reading:

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2...onversion.html
KDL-55HX729, KDL-52EX701, PS3, Sony BDP-S590, Panasonic BDT210, Bravia STR-DH820

Wow, according to that article the Conversion cost more than any Adam Sandler movie has made in 10 years :P

18 million for just a conversion is.... wow.

and the 'wow' really shows.... I thought there were very few shots where I could tell it was a conversion.Great Job,but then it's Cameron so that was to be expected anyway...

I saw the film when it came out it was the first time that I ever seen it in the theaters...I never saw it when it was originally released in 1997 and it was the first time that I ever saw a film in 3D and it was diffientely a different experience to watch the film and feel like I was really apart of the life and death struggle with Jack and Rose

Yeah, I haven't seen it yet, but I hope it's at least one of the better conversion jobs. It better be, it took over a year to complete I think!

not by a longshot. But the 3D is one of the best conversions along side Alice in Wonderland. Its great though that the 3D bluray release of this movie is going to be released so it fills the whole screen like Avatar and IMAX presentation. Great move by Cameron he knows how to watch 3D at home

It would be nice if they delivered an IMAX version in 2D. Many, like myself, would probably like to see the bigger IMAX presentation, but do not have 3D equipment, and/or care too see it in 3d. WIll the trend be that IMAX will always be exclusively in 3D from now on?
Ga'head, report me kid...you know you want to...

The film wasn't shot in IMAX, they just opened the mattes. The only reason they did that was because James Cameron knows that 3D looks best with higher aspect ratios.
He prefers 1.78 for 3D films, and 2.35 for his 2D films. He also cares a lot about preserving how a film originally looked, and that's why they won't release an "IMAX" version in 2D.

Avatar was released in a taller aspect ratio for 2D because it was conceived from the beginning for taller screens. There's no trend since most 3D movies look just like their 2D versions, and because IMAX only really refers to screens and film stock. It doesn't mean what the shape of the screen is, just what company developed it.

um... no. Avatar was released in 2.35. The IMAX and I think the specialty large screens (ETX, XD, etc) were 1.78
