$75 is essentially release day price so it's not really a sale.

Take a week off work and read through the star wars thread to see what people here think of the set if you're considering buying and need an opinion.

it was only the initial $5 off, which put it to $30.99

I was approved for an Amazon Visa and got a $15 gift certificate, that's how I only paid $20 for it

Release day price was $79.99 (for 3 days) then it went up to between $89.99 and $99.99 and has been up there ever since

The release day price was a sale, the regular price is at least $90, anything less than that would be considered a sale by most people, wouldn't it?

It hasn't been under $90 in Canada since September of last year for crying out loud
Check out my Star Wars Home Video Collection Website:

Yes, I STILL BUY DVDs! Any DVD with extras not ported to the blu-ray is STILL WORTH BUYING!

Most recent blu-rays: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Triple Feature (April 26), Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 1 (April 20)

It's the best price, but since I'm not a HUGE Star Wars fan, I'll likely wait for the UK to have it cheap, ala Jurassic Park and Alien Anthology.

I ended up getting the Amazon Visa as well primarily because it doesn't have the 2.5% foreign currency transaction fee that the other credit cards tack on...so it works great cause you save even more when buying off Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.com. Still trying to decide what to spend my $15 on though.

I forgot about that benefit... I'm never touching my other visa again for amazon orders =)

Does that apply to all foreign transactions (like ebay / barnes and noble) or only AMAZON related websites .com / .uk?

The Walking Dead Season 2 is 50.49 now, which isnt bad considering it was 63.99 before. Amazon.com has it for 48.99 + shipping + Import Deposit fees.

Anyone having success with the FINDNEMO promotion? Mine got messed up.

Amazon first line reps keep trying to just change the price for the movie which of course wipes out the pre-order price guarantee benefit.

The escalated rep couldn't apply the promo either, so finally an escalated rep is solving it by adding a timed reminder to the order so they can apply the coupon as a refund when it is finally shipped.

If you can get the coupon to work, this may be about as good as it gets (for Canadians at least) as you should receive the lowest price by release date minus $8. Coupon ends tomorrow!

Well this was more obscure, but some were pre-ordering at $79 but during 15% off sales, so $68+tax. Also there was some kind of crazy trade deal where you could buy around $40-50 of video games and trade them for this box set.

Like you I'm surprised the high price has held up for so long. Some box sets with permanently high prices are finally starting to go on sale (Star Wars, Band of Brothers, The Pacific)

It's on any foreign transaction, whether it be in a store, or online at any website.

It's actually a Canadian credit card for Amazon.ca issued through Chase. They convert any foreign transactions into Canadian $ by using the Visa exchange rate which is pretty close to what the actual going exchange rates are on the markets.

After much debating, I canceled the 3D Avengers ($20.02 shipped w. all discounts applied) and opted for the 3D Finding Nemo @ $21.15 (Shipped).. I see it as a far better deal, and I don't own a 3D TV, so I'm sure I'll be able to get Avengers for well under $20 before next summer
