The studio that once ruled the game store sales charts with Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk have confirmed they are taking on another top selling franchise.

Neversoft turned their official web page into a giant hub for prospective employees as they look for programmers, developers and other creative and technical talent to help them build the newest Call of Duty title.

It's the latest detail since the studio announced last year that they were looking for employees to work on a new unnamed FPS that they only described as an "action shooter."

Seriously? Ugh. That's development studio #4 working on one single franchise. I guess CoD will be going bi-yearly. Personally, I think Neversoft is a very talented studio and that this is waste of their talents. So was Guitar Hero. Their Tony Hawk and Spider-Man games on the PSOne were incredible.

Seriously.
Activision keeps taking good Spider-Man studios and making them work on mediocre Call of Duty games.
And then they pump out mediocre Spider-Man games every year too.

I just want another Treyarch Ultimate Spider-Man game. Instead I have to see them work on a franchise I gave up on 4 years ago.

5, actually. 6 if you count the guys doing CoD Elite.

And honestly, is this really going to survive going into next gen? In the UK, MW3 actually sold less than Black Ops during the same time period. Combined with the fact that Acti doesn't seem to have a long term plan if the series falters, this can only mean that it's going to bite back on them.

And yes, insert skateboarding pun here, like Dr. Malcolm above me stole fron NeoGAF.
