You severely underestimate fans of these movies then. I would go see it another 2 or 3 times. Also I severely doubt this will get a re release theatrically.

I've "severely" underestimated fans of a movie that's grossed $588 MILLION in the US?

Un-adjusted for inflation, a grand total of 1 movie has passed $700 million in the US. One. And that's Avatar. As I already stated, a re-release would need to add well over $150 million. To expect The Avengers to sell that many tickets, AGAIN, for 30 more minutes is absurd.

No it's not absurd. It would most likely make that and more if they do a re-release at the right time not to mention those that didn't see it the first time around would likely go and easily increase the numbers for it.

I'd go see it, as I didn't(and still don't) have the time to line up a babysitter for our little guy!

It's getting harder to find posts regarding The Avengers blu-ray, steelbook or not. Stay on topic, please.

Regarding the FutureShop steelbook, the combo will contain the 3D version as well, as opposed to the UK steel which probably will only carry the 2D.
I think that is a big difference as well.

FutureShop will be getting a nice steelbook with an actual title on the spine and a beautifully simple cover art design.

It looks very cool, and that's good enough for me. It's not that a case is gonna disintegrate after 12 months. And I don't have kids.

I think for exclusives we're gonna have to look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled Blu-ray boxset.
I have doubts about that one.
1 extra disc with what? Some featurettes probably.
We're gonna have Iron Man 3, Thor 2, who knows what else.
And then a new box set, or just a Phase Two box?
I'm a big fan of these Marvel movies. I'll probably wait for the first reviews, and hope for a price drop.

Is there any reason why its coming out nearly 1 month later in the US comapred to Australia? Will the US version be getting anything extra with it??

Australian websites say: 29th August 2012
US says: 25th September 2012

I find it very strange..I would have expexted it to be the other way around to be honest..lol

Well, there was someone who worked at Walmart that said they saw something in their company info about an August release in the U.S. as well. It turned out to be that they had accidentally used the wrong date. Perhaps the same has happened in Australia?

OAR truly is 1.85:1, but not all 1.85 films are framed in 1.85.
