ended up outside in the rain this morning!!

I cleaned out our gutters about a month or so ago….we have a tree w/those stupid little “helicopters” on it.

Well, I didn’t get them completely cleaned out I guess…..the heavy rain this morning washed them all to the downspout and clogged it.

Just like always, I was outside in my camo army jacket, my boxers, and flip flops on top of the ladder cleaning the gutter out by the downspout.

Happens every year.

It usually happens in the middle of a downpour when it’s thundering & lightening out.

Not that bad…yet. if we lose the contract, there’s going to be a mad scramble for everyone to find a job. If it comes to that, I may ride it out and take a severance package.

That wouldn’t be until next summer sometime. Then I’d stay home w/the kids and save on babysitting costs next summer. b/c next fall (2013) my son starts school full time so we only have 1 year of babysitting left.

The company I work for is sub-contracted by a company in AZ. The company in AZ holds the gov’t contract to supply healthcare to active duty and retired military members and their families.

The company in AZ enforces the benefits/policies, the company I work for just processes the claims.

But if the company in AZ loses the contract, then we have no work to do. There’s always the chance my company could absorb us into another contract that they hold but that hasn’t even been talked about yet.

Crazy stuff Benny. I have 2 more years before my son starts kindergarten, and I am not even sure if it will be a full day or 1/2 day......hec, with the way the PA gov't is dealing with education and budget cuts, there may not even be a kindergarten in 2 years....

Hang in there buddy. I lost my job 3 times thru bank mergers/buyouts (this would be without any warning , so imagine walking into work your first day after getting married and finding out you don't have a job any longer, but we also can't tell you how long it will be before you no longer have a job....talk about limbo!) but I always landed on my feet and I'm sure you will too.

We may have to make a decision about switching schools @ some point w/our kids. The public school we are sending them to are doing this “venture academy” starting in 6th or 7th grade. It’s basically where the kids use ipad’s and computers to do all of their work. Homework is submitted through email. No text books. Oh and the best part…..NO TEACHERS teaching!!!

The kids basically learn on their own @ their own pace. Um NO!!! this is the 1st year for it and if it’s still there in a couple of years, they will be going to the catholic school in town…..it’s the same school both me & my wife went to so no biggie there.

That’s ruff man!!! I’ve got a few things in my back pocket just in case besides the whole going back to school thing.

Morning guys…thanks for stopping in!!

I still have to order that 3rd lightsaber holder. but between our outrageous babysitting costs, the nickel & diming that comes w/filling out all the paperwork for going back to school (I have to pay an application fee just to apply to school, I have to pay for a copy of my high school transcripts, among other things. ) and my out of control blu-ray buying habits….it has to wait.

I did order my transcripts this morning though and will be dropping everything off at the school next week so my application can be processed.

The director called me into her office yesterday just to go over my request for tuition reimbursement. She signed off on it. now I just have to wait and see what our ES dept. says.

along w/that heat & humidity we’ve also had rain!! we needed it but not @ the expense of me having to take the truck to work everyday!!

Just got an email here @ work…..my tuition reimbursement has been approved!!!

b/c I’m only going part time….i should get most of the tuition paid for through work!!!

now I just have to take in my transcripts from high school, my act scores, and my application fee and my application can be reviewed.

Once that’s reviewed and I’m accepted to the school…..then the financial aid stuff gets looked at.

Congrats on he school stuff. What will you study, massage or bikini waxing? Maybe you get hired on with the Swedish Bikini Team after.

Staying at home with the kids for a summer could be a blessing, especially considering what you pay for child care.

That iPad stuff with no teachers....can see the kids becoming experts at Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds!
