it's not just the artwork, it's the book that won't be included in the UK set etc etc. I guess that if the US edition street for $200 I will get that one. Good thing to have options, isn't it??

Yeah I guess, though tbh I'll end up getting the UK one anyway - whatever it looks like. I'd hate to think what the customs charges would be on the US boxset

I really hope UK gets that packaging! Also wondering if UK discs will have same specs as the US discs (audio & subs)... Come on Warner, give us a UK press release for this!

I originally liked the look of the UK set (according to the pic on HMV), however, looking at the US edition with the book packaging and the lenticular image, I must say it looks really well presented!

The one on the previous page dosen't look that big to me, and going by the shape of the box HMV are showing, looks like it would fit length ways.

I used to own the DVD's from the whole series but NEVER watched one from it as it was on tv every day and I watched them over and over again and later sold the DVD'S.
I won't be in a hurry to buy this,as funny as it is,I have simply played it out for the time being but may pick it up on down the line and hopefully benefit from a decent discount.

You think so? Those book-style packagings are a total pain in the butt. I have the one for The OC DVD set and it drives me nuts getting the discs out...

After posting the Friends Blu-ray press release we've had a few readers email us to double-check exactly what episodes would be on the set. The press release mentions "all 236 original broadcast episodes released for the first time in the US," but fans weren't sure whether these mean "as aired on TV," or the extended cuts that previously appeared on DVD.

We double-checked with Warner Home Video and confirmed that these are the NBC broadcast versions, not the extended episodes. The extended cuts were special versions created for the DVDs and no longer exist in a form that could be used for a Blu-ray release. The good news is that you'll have the original broadcast cuts in HD (on Blu-ray), and the extended cuts in SD (on DVD).

I don't know what the exact differences are. I don't think I've ever seen the extended episodes. Is every episode extended? and what about the "super-sized" episodes?

Wow, Warner. That's just over the line. In fact, no. It's so far past the line, that you can't even see the line - the line is a dot to you!! Had to do it.

My actual thoughts - well, it is disappointing, but I'll probably still buy the set. I bought the extended box set to see what was different, and I think I only ever watched it in full once. It's good, but I still didn't mind watching it on TV whenever I was flicking through the channels and it was on, so I think I'd be fine with this set.

I've just had a look, actually some season 7 episodes were apparently Super Sized when broadcast (about 10 minutes longer or so). I guess I was thinking of those. Wonder if those are included.
