Hong Kong The Viral Factor

THE VIRAL FACTOR is up for pre-order now. I would encourage anyone that is a fan of action cinema to order this immediately. I saw it back in January and really liked it. The story is completely ridiculous and almost the whole movie is one big coincidence, but for the most part it is almost non-stop action and every action scene is great.

"Fire of Conscience" was ok, but they did put all the action scenes in the trailer. Is it the same with "Viral Factor" ? Would luv to get this one ... but not if i already seen all the cool stuff.

Most definitely not the same case here. I had the exact same thoughts as you regarding both movies trailers. I did eventually appreciate FIRE OF CONSCIENCE more with repeat viewings after getting over what the trailer originally promises. Regardless, THE VIRAL FACTOR trailer had me thinking the same thing, but if you have ever wanted Dante Lam to just unleash a full blown non-stop action movie, this is it.

Just to give you a general structure of the movie, it opens with an extended action scene, settles into exposition for 20-30 minutes, goes straight into what is basically one action scene after another until the end with minor breaks to move the story along. It's amazing the relentless pace that Dante Lam keeps up to be honest. He has made what would be the equivalent of John Woo and Ringo Lam having their styles being melded together in a modern day action film.

Now, I am focusing entirely on the action here because the story is so convoluted and overly serious that you might start laughing at it. It serves its purpose though so I didn't mind as much.

There releasing earlier than I thought so that makes me one happy bastard....and as far as US release I thought since China lion released it, I thought they would release the home video....I would prefer WellGoUsa though to release the blu since they are on FIRE right now with releasing excellent titles (frontline, seediq bale, flashpoint re-release)....but I don't want to wait til May, june, or the summer for the blu-ray so HK one is day one for me....sucks I just made a huge purhase from dddhouse.com, I should of waited a little longer

Plenty of great actions sequences in this and for the most part some good acting. The only dude that really annoyed me was the main bad guy, whose dialogue was all in an American accent. He sounded like he was reading straight off the script.

I agree but "fire of conscience" still looks pretty darn good if not the same....as far as the viral factor, I enjoyed it 100% . It was entertaining and never let off the accelerator. I was watching this at 3am so if I wasn't sleepy that means the movie was doing its job

This does have some of the best AQ & PQ of any HK release I have ever seen. A great popcorn flick that if you are a fan of Dante, you need to pick this up. I doubt the US AQ will be as good.
BAM!
Certification of films & other stuff
