If you ever get the chance, get them. My UPA-1's really opened up the front soundstage and expanded the dynamic range of the speakers.

That's funny dude. You live right by my brother and looking at your pic gallery a few months back when you commented on my HT gallery. However that comment is gone now. I remember thinking that looks like a house that would be in Orland.

I am looking to purchase a home theater and was going to buy Reference Studio 100's and the 690 CC. Would the Studio 100's be able to be bi-amped from an XPA-5 and use the additional channel to power the 690...Any opinions would be appreciated.

If you mean to use 4 of the XPA 5's channels for left and right speakers AND use the remaining channel to power your center, then by all means the answer is yes.
However; you will get superior results bi amping using multiple amplifiers because of the multiple power supplies, this is to say that 2 seperate amplifiers would power one speaker. Kindest regards, HTinP

Hey I was just curious do you guys turn the amp on and off or do you just leave it on? I always leave my power conditioner on. That's Okay right? I would assume it is fine. I just know people turn it off so I was just curious if there is a right or wrong thing to do with the amplifier and the Power conditioner or is it just whatever you prefer.
Thank You. |
