That poster reminds me of the one from Revenge of the Fallen, only Optimus was battered.

Anyone else hoping we have Unicron in this? I wouldn't mind seeing Metroplex or the Dinobots.

I really hope Michael Bay uses this as an opportunity to correct the mistakes of the last two. Over-reliance on humans and bad humour. This should be more about Transformers so I want to see more scenes with the Transformers talking to each other etc. Its a big budget movie and besides, with all the money Bay spent on Shia and Rosie he could have spent it on more Transformer screen time.

Fingers crossed...

Oh and for the record, the first movie is one of my favourites.

oh yea for sure. Omega Supreme, Fortress Maximuss, Quintessons, But Unicron would sell the deal, as well as Galvatron.

A few people on Bay's forum (shootfortheedit.com) are calling the poster fan made, some are unsure:

We'll see.

My guess is fake. It looks awesome and all the info is on there, but it just has that fan-made feel to me for some reason.

In the cartoon I remember that guy transforming into the aircraft carrier while on land to squash a decepticon. It was one of the stupidest things I ever saw as a kid.

Michael Bay should do that too.

Michael Bay on Transformers 4's Plot, Cast and Budget

Quote:
With "Transformers: The Ride-3D" now open at Universal Studios Hollywood, film franchise director Michael Bay stopped by the ride and spoke with The LA Times about his plans for his fourth -- and, as he stated recently final -- Transformers film, set to hit theaters on June 27, 2014.

“It’s not a reboot," Bay said, reiterating that the new film will have an all-new cast. "That’s maybe the wrong word. I don’t want to say 'reboot' because then people will think we’re doing a 'Spider-Man' and starting from the beginning. We’re not. We’re taking the story that you’ve seen — the story we’ve told in three movies already — and we’re taking it in a new direction. But we’re leaving those three as the history. It all still counts... We’re moving on to something different.”

Though the script, currently being drafted by Ehren Kruger, is not yet final, Bay hints that one place the fourth film may go is into outer space.

"That feels like the way to go, doesn’t it?" says Bay. "I want to go a little off [the planet] but I don’t want to go too sci-fi. I still want to keep it grounded."

No matter what, Bay says that one element of the new production is to scale back the budget somewhat to around $165 million, about $30 million less than 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Speaking of smaller scale, Bay recently wrapped his dark crime comedy Pain and Gain for the studio. Starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson, it follows a group of bodybuilders who engaged in a campaign of kidnapping, extortion and murder in Florida.

No mention of if this will be shot in 3D like DOTM, but would the studio really Not want to go that route for more Box Office returns? Which makes it very curious they are trying to make it for $165M, right?

Is it feasible for this to move to outer space and NOT be about Unicron?

If they do not make Unicron the lead villain, Bay will probably be hunted down. That's like not putting the Mandarin in an Iron Man movie.
....and so says the Meeklo

How else are the Autobots going to run into the Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles to tie in and advertise the new franchise?

Good question. I sure hope it is in 3D as I highly enjoyed the third one that way.

Turns out it isn't just the human cast of the "Transformers" franchise that's getting refreshed. It looks like the robots are also being replaced by cheaper parts.

TFW2005 has scored word directly from Hasbro that toy sales from the third film were down because of same characters in all three movies.

As a result, "Transformers 4 will have a new cast of [robot] characters and it will be a story revolving around these new characters."

Ehren Kruger ("Transformers: Dark of the Moon") is writing the script for the Michael Bay-directed fourth film which hits cinemas June 27th, 2014.
