I'm curious to see how this compares to the Universal HD DVD. If it truly is a worthy upgrade I'll definitely bite on the high def double dip. The Game has always had a sort of dark, muted color tone which the HD DVD isn't all that bad at reproducing. I'll be keeping my eyes open to the reviews once it hits store shelves.

I am so F*CKING excited for this release! I wasn't expecting Criterion to release it! I knew that a Blu-ray for the film was in the works, but a Criterion release approved and worked on by David Fincher himself?!
This is definitely a day one buy for me! All we need now is Panic Room on Blu-ray and I will have all of his films on Blu! Quite honestly, the SuperBit DVD isn't that much of an improvement over a regular DVD. I played it, and I'm guessing that it was upscaled. Even then, the quality wasn't that great. |

The cover is good looking, so the looks are covered. The movie has great content and an awesome story, so that'll be fine for my intellectual stimulation. |

I'm really looking forward to this one. Haven't seen it in a while and do not own it on DVD. One of my fav's though. The Game is such an underrated thriller.

Shyza! I'm two weeks late on this wonderful news. I have been waiting on this release for several years, and Criterion handling the blu-ray release is the best news of all! Definitely my favorite Michael Douglas film...

in my opinion, this is fincher's best work. Don't get me wrong, I love pretty much his entire catalog, but this film just hits me and unlike a few I've seen here, I think the ending is perfect.
My question though is, do Criterion films go down in price that much or is $28 the best I will get for a while? ![]() Here's hoping we get a magical price drop between now and the release date. That, or I'll probably just wait until an Amazon sale or the BN sale in November. Why Are They So Excited About a 5? A Silver Linings Playbook Essay

Yes, but there should be another B & N Criterion sale in November, only about a month and a half or so after The Game is released, if you can just be a little patient. I know that's my plan for getting this, my favorite Fincher film.

So, because this is going to be Region A locked, can anyone say if there's going to be some kind of new Region Free version release of some kind? We don't get Criterion releases down here in Australia, but a release of the same caliber would be excellent; The Benjamin Button blu is beautiful, and I'd love one of The Game to continue with my Fincher collection.

I don't think I can wait. Besides, it's only $8. Maybe I'll get The Royal Tenenbaums when the next B&N sale starts up. I'm getting this Blu-ray day one!
