I would be upset too if I had to sit through an NBC Olympic broadcast.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Olympic Games, both Summer and Winter, so I'll be watching quite a bit of it.

Two of my fave sports to watch is Weightlighing and Wrestling (both disciplines).

I am. It's so weird that I have no interest in swimming whatsoever, but I would definitely watch it for the Olympics.

Same here. I'll only watch it when it's for Olympics.

I have been looking forward to this summer's Olympics mostly because it gives us more tennis in between Wimbledon and the US Open. London is pretty much giving me another Wimbledon to watch since it's on their grass courts. It could even mix things up more since it's best out of 3 sets, not 5 (for the men). It should be really interesting

But I do watch swimming, track and field, wrestling, gymnastics, because they are suddenly really fun

I've been watching the swimming trials and am curious if Michael Phelps is going to play second-fiddle to Ryan Lochte in this Olympics. Lochte has looked good in qualifying and didn't take the long break after the last Olympics that Phelps did and I could see Lochte being the star of this Olympics.

I watched that race yesterday and Lochte won barely as Phelps was closing in to the finish. I wonder if they are pushing hard and trying to conserve energy since I think they only need to finish in the Top 8 or so to make the Olympic team.

I dunno, I saw a Sportscenter tidbit about them or something, and they are apparently very fierce rivals... Yeah, expect Lochte to get the better of Phelps here in month... this may come as a surprise to casual spectators.

Also, MaCruz, I find it kinda odd that the smiley icon to this ("official" Olympics) thread is an angry face (). Do you think we can change that?

I'd also like any "Official" thread to be based on all nations and not just the accomplishments of the U.S. team. Just sayin'!

You know, this did cross into my mind when I typed my original post, but I thouuuuuuught I wouldn't have to say anything to MaC and that it would be obvious.

Hell if anything, put a British flag next to the Olympics (London) or possibly a Greek flag (originated in Ancient Greece/Athens).
