Sony Blu-ray not playing John Carter 3D - Blu-ray Forum

I have a Sony BDP-S780 withe firmware M07R620, the problem is that the 3D disk will not play, I get the msg that my firmware needs to be updated, but I already have the latest, any thoughts?? Please Help

All kidding aside, do you have other 3D disks that you can play on the machine?

Silly question, but do you have a 3d display? Reason I ask is because my BX-58 (aka BDP-S580) shows a similar message but it's not hooked up to a 3d TV.

I pretty sure the 3d disc can not be played in 2d mode, which is why there is the separate 2d disc in the combo pack.
