Oh, Lord. I knew she looked familiar, but I couldn't place her. Too funny.

Ah, well yeah, I guess I do. It was a confusing dichotomy, from a non-religious viewer's point of view.

Think of it as similar (though not quite analogous) to the Catholic Church's view of Protestantism in the Middle Ages as heretical, while continuing to believe in Christianity.
It just seems like vampires, with such long lives (some of them), wouldn't be superstitious...and I just realized that maybe superstition is actually more likely in a world where there are vampires, fairies, etc! Nevermind!

Well, that's what religious wars are all about. Even when they agree on the big picture, they fark each other up over the small stuff.

My biggest gripe about last night was during the bit with the Authority and omg will Bill get staked? Umm yeah, I think we know he won't. It's kind of pointless and silly to threaten the lives of main characters on shows usually. They should know the audience isn't really gonna believe that they might kill Sookie, Bill or Eric anytime soon, if at all. So, no point in trying to make us think it might happen. It's one thing to have someone say, if you keep this up you may regret your actions, blah blah blah. But not the whole ohhh I'm gonna stake you. Oh I so want to stake you. Please, go sit down and relax cause you're not gonna do anything. Now if it was Pam, (now) Tara, even Jessica, ok I could believe they may actually kill them.

Overall, another good ep I thought. Hopefully the Terry storyline doesn't last more then another 4 eps. I'm being realistic or maybe optimistic, cause I can't see them wrapping it up in 1-2.
To be fair, a lot of shows put the main characters in life threatening situations but we all know they won't kill them off, it's not just True Blood. Realistically in these types of situations (if they were even possible) the person would be in danger so I feel as if they have to do it, even if we all know nothing will happen. They do it with Vampire Diaries all the time, Elena's life is threatened... they're not going to kill the main character. But there's always a little more to the story of why they can't do it rather than it's a main character and they wouldn't do it.

I'm not even sure how to say this properly but here it goes: if the characters are completely safe from threats or even the thought of something happening to them, it would be kinda dumb also. I mean has there been any show similar that hasn't had the main character(s) in life threatening situations?

There's always a very slim chance of the writers taking a risk and killing someone off you wouldn't expect. But there's no way they'd ever kill off Bill or Eric unless it was towards the end of the series.

Kill off some human or wolf/witch characters and focus on the vampires, they've always been the most interesting ones on the show.

I'd say the wolves, but they change into regular wolves Where the hell are the Werewolves’ the size of the ones in underworld that would have been epic.
Because it's easier to have courage from a safe distance away.

Well they've got how many books to base seasons on - a dozen? Plus a couple books of short stories.

I figure it will last 6 seasons - that will be 5 seasons with Alan Ball in charge, and then HBO will give someone new a chance on the 6th season and then express regret that ratings did not improve and cancel it as the 6th wraps up.

I do think that Lafayette has reached his maximum quota of how many times he can be possessed by a demon though. What are we at, three times now?

Rewatching season 4 now and I realize it is really just being played for laughs. yes there is supernatural drama going on, but humor is the takeaway moment of most scenes. Humor used to be the icing on the cake, but now I think that changed and became the principle motivation for everything that happens. At least in season 4. Maybe season 5 will be more serious - the first couple episodes give me hope for that.

I like a lot of the recurring characters and they were fine when they just popped up in a scene or two to add flavor to the show. The problem started, at least for me, when characters like Andy, Arlene and Terry, Sam's brother and the like started getting there own stories.

The actress who put the silver cross contraption on Eric & Bill in last nights episode, was the little girl from Waterworld and Deb in Napoleon Dynamite.

I get what you're saying. I guess it was just the way they went about it in that ep that bugged me. They've been in danger before like with Marnie (forget how it's spelled) but to me, it was way different in the previous ep with the stake held and the oh I want to kill you nonsense. It seemed almost comical, to me. Maybe that's why I thought it was so bad. Actually, without the whole bit of holding a stake and starting and stopping striking Bill with it, the scene would have played out fine IMO.

I thought she looked familiar but couldn't place her until I saw her name in the end credits. I haven't seen her since Napoleon Dynamite. She should of given Bill and Eric a key chain.

So... we have a new Nan Flanagan. That one I didn't see coming. Course I hadn't thought about it either. But when he said to bring in the new Nan, I figured it was gonna be another new character.

I am liking the Pam flash backs to her story. They got me with Tara's dream while in the walk-in. I was saying holy... when she bit Arlene. We got to see how Jason became the way he is with women. More of Andy's ass. lol Poor schmuck. Jessica went sniffing out a faerie and did Tara bake herself to death or just extra crispy? My guess is she's not gone yet.

That's Tina Majorino who I loved as Mac on Veronica Mars. She is currently recurring on Bones.

I'm wondering if it was a faerie, it seemed like it was too me, but she's been around Sookie enough that she should recognize the smell. I'm wondering if it's something different like a gnome, leprechaun or Keebler elf(since she said he smelled like cookies).

Yep knew her from Bones as well, she disappeared for awhile and has slowly been showing up as a guest on lots of TV shows over the last few years, she even did the voice for her character on the Napoleon Dynamite animated show too.

When the guy took off so quick and then seemingly vanished I figured it might be a faerie. Then I saw the credits and it said 'Faerie Claude'. I don't know who else it would have been other then the guy saying he needed clothes for his 16 sisters or something like that.

Keebler elf is pretty funny though.

Which was kinda silly cause she smells Sookie all the time. Even if she's only part faerie she must have some of that sweet smelling faerie dust on her.

You know what, I don't know that I recall other vampires really saying much about smelling something different with Sookie. I seem to remember them commenting that something about her seems different or something like that. It's when they taste her blood that they go cuckoo for cocopuffs. Maybe the faerie guy is 'pure' faerie and so, he smells tasty. You're right though. You would think Sookie would still have some sort of.. cookie smell. Hopefully they're not gonna set him up to be a 4th love interest for Sookie.

..and I wonder how many cast members got a good laugh at the guy who plays Hoyt when they saw his Fangtasia get-up. I know I was
