Prometheus Blu-ray - 3rd December 2012

Just like in my Spider-Man thread, I noticed this on a pre-order sheet in my local blockbusters. Apparently they are taking pre-orders now and it is due out on December 3rd on DVD, Blu-Ray & Blu-Ray 3D.

I preordered my US version yesterday (3D copy) - I do hope the price drops though, and use the difference to help pay for The Avengers 3D.

Without spoiling anything for those who have yet to see Prometheus, I must say that I have very mixed feelings about the film. But I'm certainly hopeful that I'll be happier with the longer cut on Blu-ray. This is exactly what happened for me with Scott's Kingdom of Heaven. I disliked the theatrical version but the added footage in the extended cut of that film really made all the difference. So fingers crossed. The film's production design is certainly spectacular and the 3D experience is actually worth seeing.`

It's because most studios in the UK still use 6 month windows theatrical to retail which is what this gap is. In the US they are more enlightened and for many films the window is now only 4 months.

This will be a Play exclusive Steelbook as they have the deal. If they did XMen and Planet of the Apes last year and even minor films like Chronicle this year all also from Fox with steelbooks for new theatricals Prometheus will be as well.

Shame the film was dreadful. I would use a swear word but don't know about the rules on here
