Default Marantz SR6006

Iam in the market for a new HT setup. First purchase will be a new receiver. I've been looking around and the Marantz seems to be the one I like. What do you guys think?

Default The new models were just announced this month.

I'd hold off until fall.

Hey I am as well in the market and I am gonna get something in the next 3-4 weeks I was looking at this is exact model or denon 3312ci what do you guys think.

As for OP if you have the cash and are not on a time frame you should wait for new models either they will be better or the price of the older model will go cheaper. But I do not know your situation. Glad you have it all picked out or narrowed it down. I was set between Onkyo and denon now marantz got thrown in the mix. I am so up in the air on what to get and I don't know sh&t about alot of this stuff so I always have a ton of questions.

But that Marantz is really drawing my attention.

I've always had Marantz receivers. I've LOVED them. In fact, I'm planning on buying a SR7007 at Christmas (along with a new Marantz BD player).

My brother has used Yamaha and Integra (Onkyo). I like them, but I prefer Marantz. I also like Denon. Again, I prefer Marantz. They look better, and to my ears, they sound better.

I've only used the Marantz amplification for home theater, but if you're also planning on using your receiver to listen to music, I HIGHLY recommend Marantz. My 2-channel system has always been something else (although I also love Marantz cd players-very smooth...no listener fatigue).

In fact, I'm giving the the first Marantz AV receiver I bought out of college to my niece for her birthday this year. Obviously, the gear lasts longer than the lifespan of current technology/sound formats (hence buying multiple receivers). I've never been disappointed with any Marantz purchase I've made.

For what it's worth, George Merrill (audiophile and turntable guru), stills sells Marantz gear at his analogue boutique in Memphis. Perhaps I'm biased, but his opinion means a lot to me.

Best of luck in your decisions!

My situation is hardcore movie watcher/streamer, casual gamer, and music phile. I love spinning vinyl so this model will definitely see it's fair share of music. I guess I will hold out and maybe start with the speakers first or a good subwoofer. The Marantz looks awesome hopefully their quality control is better than other companies as well.
