Ok, so for Halloween 4 it looks like we're gaining a commentary track, deleted & alternate scenes. We're losing 'The Making of Halloween 4: The Final Cut'.

Halloween 5, we're gaining a commentary track, Halloween 5: Original Promo, and Halloween 5: On Set Footage. I wonder if the 'On-Set Halloween 5 Footage' or 'Inside Halloween 5' from the Divimax DVD will be part of the 2 new featurettes.

So has the Halloween 5 introduction and the original Halloween 5 On-Set footage from the Divimax edition. But looking at the extras, the good news is that most of the extras from the Divimax SE's are being ported over. I'd like to point out some positives for the Halloween 5 release if I may; I think there's a possibly that the introduction will be included even though it's not listed and the On-Set Footage from the Divimax SE will still be included via the On-Set Footage Blu-ray extra (obviously expanding it by a whopping 10 minutes!).

Not sure I like the cover art. I've always been an advocate for original poster art. The only time I've ever made an exception is with Arrow Video releases since you get new and original. I'm happy that there's finally an official announcement but the artwork doesn't impress me. I'll still buy them, of course, these two movies bring back so many awesome memories. If they do even half as good with the transfers as The Evil Dead, it'll be worth the upgrade.

This Halloween season is, so far, the best for blu-ray! Halloween 2, 3, 4, and 5, Pet Sematary, Thinner, Sleepwalkers, Terror Train, Night of the Living Dead 1990, Fear City, The Boogens, Jaws, Mother's Day, and The Funhouse (Arrow Video released an amazing version but maybe this will feature a better transfer).

If we get an announcement for Phantasm, I might just have an orgasm.

Yup. I'm guessing the logic was that a lot of the material would be duplicative with the new commentaries, etc.

Still, they're good pieces -- not fluff. For 97% of fans, the BDs will be fine, but I'll be keeping my DVDs to make 2-disc ubersets.

I'm also digging the new cover-art btw (Original but enhanced slightly) And also, I've never seen these on HD Broadcast so I'm dying to see all the new detail I've missed previously.

I'm going to do the same... although I might save the 31st for a Universal Monsters marathon.

But I'll watch all 11 of the Halloween films in a 11-day span in HD this year, given that it'll be the first year that's possible. I can't remember the last time I watched all of them like that. (Actually, I've never done it w/Zombie's films included... not even sure I've done it post-H20.)

•The scene in which Michael kills the mechanic was originally on-screen. The footage showed Michael stabbing the mechanic in the throat with the crowbar.


•A scene was filmed to bridge Halloween 2 with 4. It was a flashback to the finale of part 2 with a scene where Loomis is being tended to by paramedics when he sees the burning body of the shape. Loomis exclaims to the EMS technicians to "Let Him Burn!" and they douse the flaming corpse of Myers to the better judgment of Loomis.

Sadly I don't have time for that. But I am fully going in with a 1 HalloweeN film a day (including remake) until Oct 31. There is no reason not to if you do have the time (aka girlfriend free).

I recall McElroy stating on his commentary that this scene was never filmed, only written into his draft of the script.
