The Devil's Advocate Blu-ray

"The Devil's advocate is a terrifying, well crafted Horror drama that is one of a few last good films starring Al Pacino. The film combines all sorts of elements into one film, and it's a refreshing take on the traditional horror film. Al Pacino's performance here is great and Keanu Reeves, who usually is one dimensional in his acting abilities, gives a good performance as well. The film feels as if John Grisham and Stephen King would've collaborated on a film and this was the result. A good film with good acting, and an even better story. Al Pacino was definitely a wise choice to play the

in this film and this is simply a well crafted film with creepy, horrifying elements to it. That makes all the difference. This is a well executed film, one that has plenty of chills and good story development. The film may miss the mark on few occasions, but for the most part, the film succeeds in being a work of pure entertainment that will most likely surprise viewers by Keanu Reeve's good performance. But like I said, Al Pacino really is the actor that delivers the goods on screen; he makes the role his own and steals every scene he's in. I think it's too bad that lately he hasn't done anything good, but Devil's Advocate is one of his last great performances. Devil's Advocate is a fine Motion Picture and is a truly entertaining Horror film that every fan of the genre must see. Truly eerie and atmospheric, Devil's Advocate is a film that will most likely make you sleep depraved for a little while."

Blast from the past, and a bit of a coincidence. I was just checking that website this afternoon, much to my chagrin it was still all the same titles.

I think there's very little chance this blu-ray or any other new titles go on there, they might just be waiting for those existing titles to sell out and then kill the page. At least that's what it seems like, either that or they've just forgotten about it completely.

The statues issue is not a "dealbreaker" for me. I just want Pacino's incredible performance. It's a tough catagory to judge but IMHO, no one has ever played the Devil so great.

Yeah, I like this one a lot too. But Mortensen's "I love you more than Jesus" is chilling.

Just watched my newly acquired original DVD with the Ex Nihilo-esque statue. It actually holds up quite well, especially given the vintage of the actual disc (now over fourteen years old). The anamorphic image has some dirt and some edge enhancement, but otherwise it would be a perfectly serviceable standard-definition companion to the forthcoming Blu-ray, since it doesn't appear that this version of the film will be included anyway.

Lucifer wears many faces....so yeah, Viggo Mortenson, Peter Stormare, Al Pacino gave some great performances as Old Scratch.

Will def buy this....Connie Nielsen and Charlize Theron naked!

Okay, I've got an idea. Custom cover, DVD & blu in the box....yeah, I'm in.

Now, to go find the original DVD on eBay or Amazon.

It's really annoying when they release a "director's cut" and don't give you the option of the theatrical.
