Was debating getting these for a few days as I already have both IM1 and 2. Realised if I sold them to a local store I could get both steelbooks for just £4 overall but still not being keen on double-dipping despite a relatively low cost (especially since I'd had the DVD as well, so effectively triple-dipping) I held off for a few days. Then I thought "what the hell, I can always cancel" and pre-ordered thinking if I decided against it I could just cancel.

Glad I did pre-order. Sold out the next day and now my old copies are sold and I'm awaiting these awesome looking steels.

I've not been tempted to double-dip for any other steels (only started collecting a few weeks ago) but these both looked so awesome that I couldn't help myself.

I never got around to getting IM2 so the steel was a no-brainer. As for IM1, I've got the 2-disc version, so might have to keep that as the steel probably only has the 1 disc.
Pre-orders: The Beach, Kiki's Delivery Service, Grave of the Fireflies, The Big Bang Theory S6, The Great Escape, TNG S4, Once upon a Time S1
Setup: Panasonic TX-P50VT30 & SA-BTT350 Region B, Pioneer BDR-207DBK Region A, Xbox360, Wii U
Selling: Walking Dead S2 w/slip sealed. PM for info

Oh well, I was thinking over the last day about getting this, but alas. I still not as crazy about the cover as I am about the FS which is why I held off on getting someone to order me one.

I don't see the problem with buying more than 1 to sell for a bit of profit, it's play.com that maybe should have limited people.

Also it's not exploiting people, you DO have choice to buy or not...just because you didn't buy from play.com when you should have, and missed out.
Of course its exploitation, your purchasing a product with the intention of helping the item sell out quicker and then sell it on at a profit, its not that much different from ticket touts, same game, different product

Hmm, sound a bit like business, seeing a opportunity and taking advantage of it to make a profit.

as for the intention of making the item sell out quicker....well that's just Play.com thought.

Yeah, I really wish I had seen this a little bit earlier and could have gotten my hands on them. I don't own any version of the films, and these steelbooks would help complete the collection. But then people start buying 7-8 of them and it's not very cool is it.

Pretty sure it's limited to 5 per customer.

Why does practically every steelbook thread end up being a debate about order quantity and profit making!

Unfortunately not all of us can buy from play.com so we have to resort to other sales streams (eBay) in order to get a copy at inflated prices. Once play.com start selling worldwide, then eBay profiteers will be put to an end.

Nah, if you looks at the 4 sold, they were bought for under £20.

I'm glad I ordered a copy of Iron Man as soon as it was available for pre-order. Not too fussed about Iron Man 2, just ordered Saving Private Ryan in case they get sold out as well.

There nothing wrong with selling them in eBay for a little profit but most of them are all going for ridiculous prices!

Well yes there is really when theres genuine folks on here and others that want only one copy for themselves, but thanks to the greed of the likes of ebay sellers they're unable to get one.
