Maybe you missed my post farther up. So far I've seen 27 in the theater this year. By Monday I'll break 30.

i tend to go to the theater for movies that i can't wait for a home release for.

big blockbuster movies like Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, The Hobbit, LOTR are movies i tend to go see in the theater.

i'm on the fence about the new spider man @ this point.

I would recommend checking out Women in Love and some of his early films he did for the BBC.

Crazy.

I haven't been to the theater in 11 years.
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Anybody hear that? It's a, um... It's an impact tremor, that's what it is... I'm fairly alarmed here.

Been to the theater 8 times so far this year to see:

Shanghai Express (1932)
The Woman in the Window (1944)
Smultronsallet (aka Wild Strawberries-1957)
Strangers on a Train (1951)
The Call of Cthulhu/Whisperer in Darkness (H.P. Lovecraft double feature)
Vivre sa Vie (1962)
The Avengers (2012)
Prometheus (2012)

I'll bet no one else has that exact same theater movie list for this year.

I would LOVE to have a list like that. But there are no theaters around me that play older films. I would have to travel into Chicago which is like 2 hours each way (not counting bad traffic) plus parking costs etc
Just like I have opportunities to catch advance screenings of almost every major release, but rarely go because of the time and cost involved.

Yeah I consider myself lucky being a "MovieNut" and living where I do. I've found 4 different independent theaters in the Twin City area that screen classics, foreign, independent, and cult classics almost exclusively. One is a 50-seat micro theater that is just fantastic. $8 features, $2 buckets of popcorn with real butter, and $1 drinks with an incredible movie line-up. Oh and on top of everything else they sell their movie posters at great prices after the film's run is over.
