South Korea Shall We Dance?

Looks like the release date was bumped again - from today (the 20th) until the 27th.

That blows. I was going to pick this up tomorrow. 27th looks like an expensive week

I watched my Miramax DVD last night and I thought it was a sublime film. Yakusho is one of my all time favourite actors, he is a true gem to watch.

Looking forward to seeing some reviews of the BD, I would like to pick it up at some point.

The Miramax DVD is the American cut, so you're missing a bit.

Well, mine's on the way - but usually others here get their copies earlier than I do.

Ya!!!!!!!!! My copy arrived today. Just getting to watch it now. The PQ looks fantastic. The SQ is quite adequate and pleasing for the style of movie. So glad to have this in my collection! Fond memories from a film festival favorite.

Went to K2DVD.com to look for something else and came across Shall We Dance blu-ray in a standard case option. A little cheaper than the digibook and good for those who don't like the original packaging. Says the release date is July 20, 2012.

Sorry to ask this question (if it has already been answered) but I didn't see anything about this in the thread: Does this release contain English subtitles? Also, if so, are the subtitles grammatically correct?

Yes, there are English subs and they are, for the most part, grammatically correct. I had a hard time finding them at first, though. There are several subtitle options available. 1 is Korean. 2 is Japanese. 3 is listed as Korean also, but is actually English.

Does the booklet in the Digibook include English text? Or is it all in Korean?

If it's all in Korean the standard case might be a good option to consider. It also appears to be in a clear standard Blu-ray case -- which still makes it a release that stands out a bit more.

The majority of the text in the digibook is in Korean. Only a few words are in English. There are some nice photos from the movie in it. It is a really nice digibook, but if you're not a collector, I'm sure the other version is just fine.

Thanks for the reply! I do consider myself a collector but the price-difference was $7 between getting the Digibook and getting the standard case and so I wanted to consider saving some money.

The DigiBook is still probably the nicer option, but I'm probably just going to order the standard version in a few weeks or so. Thanks again for the help!
