Hey Goat, what is your opinion on the Martin Logan speakers you have vs Mirage speakers? My current setup is in my sig and I'm going to upgrade to 2 EM ESL's, the C2 center, and 2 FX2 surrounds.

Do it! When paired with the right receiver, like the Onkyo 818,it sounds awesome! I'm definitely keeping this setup! I'm going to get the FX2's in the near future. Not sure if I want to mount them on the sides or corner mount them in the rear. When you purchase the ESL's.. You get a free Dynamo 700 wireless sub also.

I was also wondering if I should get the Motion 30 or the C2. It's weird because on their website it shows the Motion 30 as being 80 x 80 for dispersion and the C2 as being 80 x 30? Also the Motion 30 has 2 5.5" aluminum cone drivers and the C2 has 2 5.25" paper cone drivers. I think the C2 having the Folded Motion XT tweeter and larger cabinet puts it over the top though. I'm still debating on if I should get 2 Motion 40's for fronts or 2 Electromotion ESL's. I loved how the electrostatic speaker sounded but I didn't like that there's a very small sweet spot for them. I'm not sure if the Motion 40's have this same characteristic and I'm also not sure if the Motion 40's would blend well with the C2 and FX2 because the 40's don't have the XT tweeter like the other 2 speakers do. Anyway, I ordered one FX2 for now and I'm supposed to receive it tomorrow. I'm going to order one component at a time until I have the whole system. I'm just really on the fence as to whether to get the 40's or the ESL's.

Honestly, the motion 40's started to grow on me,but the ESL's transparency is awesome. They sound so lifelike and live, while the 40's are in your face, but those have nice punch down low.
Absolutely get the C2 over the motion 30. The C2 is bigger and is built to disperse a wider sound stage. There are other centers that are excellent. The Mirage C2 is outstanding,as is Aperions grand Verus center. If you use height speakers like I do for dialog,it renders better centers mute. Also, when set up correctly the ESL's have a wider sweet spot than you would think. But,I'm usually the only one listening or with my gf. I'm absolutely satisfied with the ML setup I have.. Spurrier,I know your joshin me,its all good

Do you have 2 setups, a Mirage one and a Martin Logan one? Can you compare the 2?

Sometimes I forget this thread is here.
![]() For awhile I've been thinking about putting my center channel back on it's OEM stand. But the thought of running Audyssey again has not excited me. I think this weekend I'll give it a go... or maybe not. I dunno yet. Center with stand: ![]() Center without stand:

How is Audyssey with electrostatic speakers? Does it get good readings considering the fact that they're sweet spot lasers?

Audyssey is quite good with the Logans. My Logans are almost 6' tall and don't have much of the traditional sweet spot associated with ESLs.

. It does look even better on the stand, I say go for it, Audyssey isn't that long to run and I doubt it would change that much.
