Disagree. None of the CG movies you mentioned could have feasibly been done with animatronics or puppets and not look ridiculous in the 21st century. Even JP had to pull out the computers when animatronics were too limiting.

But what about CG allowing for unrealistic camera views or actions, which hurt the realism? For example, with CG space ships the camera can spin and twirl around them at insane speeds. But with a model spaceship the camera has to slowly move around them at somewhat conventional angles, like a documentary. Becuase the camera angles are more realistic thats +1 for models in the believeability/realism factor.

Limitations are not advantages. You can "shoot" CG in exactly the same way you'd shoot a model.
