Turn off "powered zone 2"option in reciever settings. Trigger should still work. I say this because my boy got ahold of my remote and turn on zone 2 & 3, the lights came on for those zones, I was running 9 channels and it had zero effect to those. But I have the 1009. Wont hurt to try it.

REMO I will do that.
I have a question if anyone can help. I am getting the Onkyo 709 and I am going to hook up Emotiva XPA-5. I was wondering if any one has used this combo or something similar. Did you use a 3.5mm mono cable or did you use a stereo cable for the 12v trigger? Thank You in Advance |

How will the NR5010 play 11.4 channels? Will you be able to play all 11 channels through the speaker terminals at the same time? Or will you have to use the preouts with an external amp?
With the NR5008 which was billed as an 11.2 channel receiver you could connect all 11 speakers but could only ever play 9 at the same time. Hopefully the NR5010 will let you play all 11 channels at the same time?? I noticed that there are no multi channel input jacks on the back of the NR5010? I hope this is not the trade off for getting 11.4 channels. I just got an Oppo BDP-95 for the expressed purpose of using their awesome DACs. So if the production models of the NR5010 don't have multi channel input jacks I won't be buying one. even as much as I would like to have 11.4 channels |

The new INTEGRA DBS 50.3 $700 bluray player has preouts for 7 channels???
What i don't understand is that there is no multi channel out on the new receivers. Seems odd? I guess for legacy receivers?? The onkyo 1010 looks like it has subeqht. It's cousin the 50.4 does according to integras website. Last edited by sonic_debauchery; 06-29-2012 at 04:20 AM. |

Hi Newbie here.
Started on the HT world. Got an Onkyo NR609 and started to learn the ropes on its features. Just want to know if there is a site or thread that will tell or teach the ins and outs of setting/configuring the 609 since I just realized it is a lot. Thanks for any advise. My present setup. Panasonic BD player --- AVR--- Optoma projector with Polk surroundbar for 5.1 setup with 2 Onkyo D-SX7A speakers for Zone 2. |

Thanks!!
They are sold out again. I went on there at about 11:30ish central time. Posted on slickdeals at about 11:42 and sold out in about a half-hour to an hour. If you want one I would suggest to start checking the Onkyo site. I went on there Friday at like 2pm was gonna order one after work it hit slickdeals and sold out in like 20-30mins. I was checking every hour since Friday. I don't know when they update the inventory on the site but today it was at about 11am central time zone. Whoever wants one good luck. I am hesitant about refurbs but $205 less than a new one direct from manufacture and next month I will buy the extended warranty. I'll take it. |

Whilst i am talking about the 609, i am absolutely 100% satisfied! Even streaming radio is boomy and full of life! The network features are BRILLIANT. I have a samsung galaxy tab and controlling the amp via the remote app is very receptive. Streaming audio from my devices has also been wonderful, no shortcomings on the unique sound of the Onkyo 609. Mp3's sound far better than usual. I have some 1980's bollywood soundtracks ripped on mp3 and the sound amazed me, sound separation as well as voice volume. All in all, a solid receiver. The ratings on those review sites are a definite indication on the capability of the 609!
