Atlantis is out on blu-ray though. The only reason I am picking up SG1 on DVD is because it might not ever be released on blu-ray.

I agree completely, however, this set was for my wife (I have no plans to rewatch) and she insisted they be DVD so she can watch them at multiple locations

Ah, I see. To be honest, HD is not a requirement for my girlfriend either. It must be a guy thing.

She sees the difference and really does appreciate it but she does not require it at all. If both her PC's had blu-ray drives she might. Yes, it is a guy thing I believe.

I bought this set from amazon last month during their DOTD. It seems I lucked out in that most of my disks play great. I only have one that is scuffed so badly it cannot play. Is there any hope of replacing a single disc from this set? I wouldn't want to take my chances replacing the entire set and end up with one with scratches on many discs.

You might try to get that scuffed disc buffed, sometimes that fixes the problem. There are services on the Internet or some local used-CD store might have one.

Thanks, but I just decided to pick up season 8 from Best Buy for $12.99, effectively giving me 5 "replacement disks." Figured any repair or return hassle might cost more than that, and ebay sales of the sole disc in question were just about as high as buying the entire season.
