Default Visions of Ecstasy

Visions of Ecstasy Blu-ray

Famously banned in the UK (until this year) for blsphemy, Nigel Wingrove's short film Viisions of Ecstasy (1989), will be coming to Blu-ray in the USA later this year.

Redemption Films is involved with this release in the United States, and they just posted this to their Facebook page:

Quote:
The release of VISIONS OF ECSTASY has been postponed to October 23... for a very good reason. The original camera negative, which was missing for years, has just been unearthed. So we are going to go back and remaster the film (a second time) for this Blu-ray release.

The disc will also include the short film FAUSTINE...commissioned by Channel Four but never aired.

Didn't the UK just get the DVD?

It looks like this has been given an ultimatum:

This super-deluxe edition includes VISIONS, newly mastered from the camera negatives -- and it looks stunning. The disc includes a previously unseen short (FAUSTINE, also newly mastered from the camera negative), VISIONS outtakes, a videotaped interview, the short film ABEL (newly remastered) as well as Wingrove's nunsploitation feature SACRED FLESH.
and in the comments:

Very disappointing news.
