Oh of course, they put the best 4-6 minutes out of a 2+ hour movie in the trailers. Damn, I coulda' saved $14.25 on my IMAX ticket with (Idiotic) Logic like that!!

now if you'll excuse me, I have a meeting with a wall in my apt.
Sorry about the $14.25. Well, maybe you can get a refund.

Not just the best in the trailers, the only good stuff.

So you have never seen a movie and thought, "That was a waste of 2 hrs. The only good, funny, interesting parts were in the trailer. The movie brought nothing."

Just relaxin' for a bit - worked today, but am off til' Saturday.

Going back in time tomorrow night: Midwest Rock-n-Roll Express with Styx, REO Speedwagon & Ted Nugent. (<--- best part - the ticket is free)

Then, going to see THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN in IMAX-3D on Friday (1pm).
It was soooo freakin' hot at the parade this morning. There were clowns dressed in their full regalia, zipping around.

Have fun at your concert. Just watch out for that cat Scratch Fever. It'll put a hurtin' on ya.

It's just hilarious to me when people (for some reason) don't think a movie might be good or very good/whatever, based on not being excited by the trailer(s).

The place where the show is isn't huge (about 9500 people), which is good, since there really isn't a Bad Seat in the house at all. Great Acoustics as well.

In what's being billed as the, "Midwest Rock n Roll Express Tour", my 3 friends & I had a great time at the old Mohegan Sun Arena in CT on Thurs. night

3 Classic Rock Acts from the 70's/80's came together for a night of Classic Rock & Roll. TED NUGENT (1st on), REO SPEEDWAGON (2nd), & Headliner, STYX, rocked the roof off the joint!!

As YOU Know, it was a great show, aside from Terrible TED NUGENT not having a great Sound Mix til' the last 2 songs: "Cat Scratch Fever"
[Show spoiler](<--- "the World's Greatest LOVE Song", his words, not mine )
, & "STRANGLEHOLD" - I video'd both, not sure how they came out --- It was very cool seeing one-time Singer/Guitarist, Derek St. Holmes, BACK in the fold, along with "Wild" Mick Brown (of Dokken fame) on Drums.

REO SPEEDWAGON was decent, weird Set List though, but their Mix was much better than Teds was. The band (Lead Singer/Keys: Kevin Cronin, Bass: Bruce Hall, Keyboards/Organ: Neal Doughty, Lead Guitar: Dave Amato of Framingham, Mass.!!, & on Drums: Brian Hitt) sounded good as a whole. Song selection was pretty good, save for a few "interesting" choices. Best of the night: ROLL WITH THE CHANGES, TIME FOR ME TO FLY, & RIDIN' THE STORM OUT, & of course they did their best 80's Top Hits as well, with KEEP ON LOVIN' YOU (#1), TAKE IT ON THE RUN (#5), DON'T LET HIM GO (#24), & the Big #1 Smash, "(I) CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING" as well.

Quote:
*** TRUE STORY: Before the show, we're in the Casino, I'm waiting for my friend Pam outside the Ladies Room, & REO's BASS PLAYER Bruce Hall comes sauntering by in a cool button up shirt, perfectly coiffed blond hair flowin' , nice shades. I think to myself, "Wait, I KNOW that guy!! Who was he?!" A short time later, he's on stage wearing the Same Shirt/Jeans, hair still perfect. ---- Then, AFTER the show (before STYX came on), & this is Literally, "maybe" 10 mins later, we're checking out the t-shirts & he comes Walking by AGAIN (changed his clothes tho ), a few in the crowd notice him, say "great show", etc., & he walks on. Then, Barely 5 mins later, the other 3 in my group are getting some mixed drinks & yup - you guessed it - HE COMES WALKING BY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! ---- I wonder if he was just checking the crowd out, looking for someone, IDK. Interesting but weird, right? ***

STYX though, wow, Really ROCKED the house. The crowd was Def there for them & they Sounded AMAZING. PERFECT Audio Mix, Killer Set List, if a wee bit short (came on about 9:30, left @ 10:40, came out for 2-3 more songs - finished about 10:53pm ). Their still a Great, Tight band "LIVE", & the MVP of the night, was a toss-up between Tommy Shaw & Drummer Todd Sucherman (1995-Present). He's an absolute Animal on the Drums!!!

Their First song of the night set the "stage" for the evening: "BLUE COLLAR MAN"
[Show spoiler](a song my old High School band used to do, among a few of theirs, including "Suite Madame Blue", which I'd have DIED to see them play)
, "TOO MUCH TIME ON MY HANDS", "LADY", "LORELEI" (!!!!), ROCKIN' THE PARADISE", "RENEGADE".

Quote:
Complete Set List:

Blue Collar Man
The Grand Illusion
Too Much Time On My Hands
Lady
Lorelei
Man In The Wilderness
Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)
Miss America
Come Sail Away
Rockin' the Paradise
Renegade
A great bonus to the night was seeing Original BASS PLAYER, Chuck Panozzo, come out & join the guys for quite a few songs.
[Show spoiler](In 2001 he announced he was Gay & living with HIV, & though he left the band for a short time, he is still a part-time member & tours with them somewhat regularly)
.

Their Best song of the night for me (among Many), was Easily the somewhat Obscure, "MAN IN THE WILDERNESS", 1st song on side 2 of the Great album, "THE GRAND ILLUSION". Guitarist/Singer, TOMMY SHAW, hit 2 Incredibly High/Sustaining notes in this song that literally made everyone's :jawdrop"

I'll post any Decent pics sometime tomorrow.

Wow, would have loved to seen the Styx show, but I also would have been greatly disappointed, because they didn't play one of my all-time favorite rock ballads ever... "Suite Madam Blue"...

I'm glad you cured your Cat Scratch Fever and Rode the Storm Out. Too Much Time on Your Hands can cause you to be a Renegade, and lose your love Lorelei. Looks like you Took it On The Run and Rolled With The Changes. Now put that Angry Young Man in a Stranglehold and Rock The Paradise. It's Time For Me To Fly.

Ditto that - I LOVE that song as well. It's been maybe 5-7 (??) yrs since I'd seen them - still an Incredible LIVE band continuing to bring it 35+ yrs on

Cool "The Amazing Spider-Man" - My Official Review.

*** WARNING - DO NOT Click on the SPOILER TAG unless you have seen the Film.

IF this warning goes unheeded, that's on YOU... ***

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Saw this today (well, Friday, 1pm, IMAX-3D) - really enjoyed it for the Most part, but...

[Show spoiler]Whatever happened to the Cops who were Infected & then turned into Lizards? Nothing ever became of them, & what Could have been some great scenes of them Infesting NYC & creating more havoc for the NYPD to overcome

Also, the dark-haired guy who was trying to get Rhys Ifans (sp?) character to Hurry Up & Finish the formula so someone wouldn't die (who was he talking about btw? ), whatever happened to him?

And this may be a bit of a silly/dumb/newb' question, but in the comics does or did Peter Parker ever develop his OWN Web-slinging gadgets to fit on his wrists, or is this just another take on that for This movie? (I never read any comics so I have no idea on this). --- I always thought the web-slinging thing came Out of his Wrists as a direct result of the whole Spider biting him (?).

Lastly, when that Massive Metal Tower/Pole falls over the bldg at OSCORP & Spidey can't stop it since the Lizard crushed his Web Shooters, it's shown plummeting to the Ground & probably taking out Quite a few cars/people/some type of MAJOR Destruction - Yet, we Never see it hit the ground for some reason. Yea, it Could have just landed in the street & took out cars & whatever else was in its path, but I'm surprised they didn't show the end result of that HUGE thing falling hundreds of feet onto a City Block with God knows what unable to get out of the way

I voted 4/5 (in the Thread for the film) though that was prob being a bit generous with the initial excitement of having Just seen it. Some parts were sort of "Ok, what happened to...?!", but IF I had to lower my vote, it'd maybe be just a 1/2 point or so (to 3.5/5, or 3.75/5 ).

The Action scenes were pretty well done I thought, & the 3D was really mainly used for Added DEPTH,
[Show spoiler](until the last few minutes, where it was more of what most people might expect when they hear a movie is in 3D)
. In that regard, I'll gladly take Excellent use of Depth in 3D films, & this one delivered. (BTW - THIS Spoiler Tag IS Okay to click on)

Cast wise, I thought they all did a pretty good job, though Sally Field was pretty much given nothing (of Substance) to work with (IMO). Martin Sheen was great, Denis Leary was his usual funny self but thankfully, he wasn't JUST being "the Humorous" guy that most movies feel the need to toss in, whether they're needed or not. He was given a little more room to stretch out here.

Nice review.
[Show spoiler]The cops who were infected were cured when Spidey released the antidote. It "rained" down upon them. I agree, they could have let them wreak havoc on NY. An opportunity missed.

The dark haired gentlemen was working for Norman Osborn, who was gravely ill. The serum was for him.

I Know that, lol - Like you said though,
[Show spoiler]After they were "infected" initially, there was Still plenty of time in the film for SOMETHING to happen, & that Was a wasted chance indeed (unless Those scenes Were filmed & then cut out for Running Time concerns ).

Yea - that's right - I forgot his name there (N. Osborn)

Exclamation "INDIANA JONES" Set on Blu-Ray - Trailer!!

Watch til' the End, when they show a quick look at the packaging.

Plus, I also have a photo of what that could look like (below the trailer), as well...

I'm so stoked for this release.

Something of this magnitude deserves proper packaging. That's right, a German Steelbook with Zippo.
